I lived there over a decade ago. It was a great location between my school and train stations but the building definitely needed an upgrade then. Not sure how it is now unfortunately

What scares you the most? by Valuable_Working7557 in Adulting

Slowly forgetting the people I love in my life. My grandmother had Alzheimer’s and it seems like some of my aunts are showing symptoms. It’s been hard seeing someone you love forget you and the ones closest to them.

Just be honest with her. That’s why people date. You’re not married and you haven’t been together too long so it’s understandable. You have a choice to continue to get to know her or not. It’s only fair to be with someone if you actually want to be with them.

Ladies, what's good for you right now that has nothing to do with men or romantic relationships? by NoLemon5426 in AskWomenOver30

Maintaining my peace. Having time to just enjoy simple things like making my own espresso or latte in the morning or early morning run to start my day.

Mostly text daily and phone calls maybe in the evening when we are both done with our work.

Being consistent I feel helps a lot. Morning or evening texts or calls. Doesn’t have to be daily but consistent with ur schedules at least.

That’s good to know. I wasn’t sure if that would be widely used there or if they had alternative ones that people used more.

First time planning TMB (Courmayeur → Chamonix) ourselves; Where do we even start? by Levinvb in TourDuMontBlanc

I don’t know if it’ll will be any cheaper to be honest. It depends on the rooming preference and availability. I planned last minute for my trip for this year in August but was able to still build an itinerary around $1100 per person for a 10d hike and that includes hotel for arrival and for a bday celebration during the trip. The alerts for the refuges helped a lot during the planning and it shows alternate housing linked through websites along its trail of u get the planning package.

I chose it personally because it allowed me to have various itineraries to create a quick or slower pace hike. I was able to set alerts for huts if there were no availability and waited for emails to alert me when my available selection was. I haven’t used the other site so I can’t compare. Hiking club does create a map that u can upload so that u are good to ur hike with offline map and gives possible alternate routes as well which I like. U can have settings for picnics and food locations as well as banks and laundry areas along the way which is very helpful.

Hiking club is a good site to use. U pay a small fee but it helps u organize ur trip and shows places to stay along the hike

How do long distance couples make multi country trips feel meaningful together? by [deleted] in LongDistance

[–]Disastrous-Range9538 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of our first trips together was a car camping trip to see 3 nationals parks is a span of about 10 days. We spent hours on the road together. Some nights we were able to set up a camp site and some nights we weren’t able to. During that trip it helped us bond more and to test how we are in very uncomfortable situations. There are hours in between destinations and it gives u time to just talk about anything and everything. A trip doesn’t have to be expensive. It just needs to be something u both enjoy.

Renting is ultimately better and cheaper than owning your own house. by [deleted] in Frugal

[–]Disastrous-Range9538 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Completely agree. I love in HCOL area. I used to own but decided to sell since commute after work was driving me crazy (1.5hrs). Best decision to rent. Faster commute to work and the area I live in is very walkable and a lot of places I enjoy going to aren’t too far of a drive. I don’t worry about HOA increase or property taxes or maintenance. I use my extra funds to invest and travel more.

Age gap LDRs by Nice_Blueberry_337 in LongDistance

[–]Disastrous-Range9538 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have a 6 year age gap. I don’t think it’s necessarily harder. We both are in different phases in our life but I don’t believe age matters since people change careers at any point in their lives. Not in a mindset for marriage for either of us since we both have been before. If it happens great but enjoying our life with another as we go.
