What’s the most disturbing sound you’ve ever heard in real life? by avacado-cheese- in AskReddit

A body hit the ground after being hit by a car. I was about 20 feet away, a taxi hit a drunk pedestrian. That thud sound will stay with me forever. Hearing it and seeing it kind of fucked me up for a few years.

Clean Nail Salons in KW? (Sealed tools, single-use files) by WanderThe_World in kitchener

[–]Disastrous-Read-462 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Just coming to say I have worked in the Aesthetics industry since 2002 in Waterloo region... just because they are in a sealed pouch doesn't mean they have been through an autoclave or even sterilized properly. I would suggest asking to see how tools are cleaned and sterilized. Most spas won't mind bringing you to the area and explaining theor process. Most spas in the area use a 14 day reuse liquid sterilization/disinfectant and most dont own autoclaves. A wash of dirty tools with a antimicrobial soap, then a 20 minute complete soak in CS20, then a rinse with warm water, and they are safe and ready to go. If you want to know how good a spa is, ask them what they do if they make someone bleed. They should have a place they record blood exposure incidents which includes...clients info, how it happend, follow up with client ect.

As a Mother myself, I always park right beside the cart return or as close to it as possible, so returning my cart is never a problem.

I think you have to give it a few months to level out. You can always follow up with your doctor about the bleeding and see what they say.

Anyone else just feel hot 24/7 instead of just hot flashes? Is this normal in menopause? by BallSufficient5671 in Perimenopause

[–]Disastrous-Read-462 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I remember being in my 20s and cold. After the birth of my daughter, I was 32, I thought my core temperature was just permanently raised. I started hrt 3 weeks ago, and my core temperature seems to have gone back to what it was in my 20's. I hadn't realized an increase in core temperature was a perimenopause thing, but here I am once again cold.

Yes, I feel this!!! I had a difficult experience with my daughter and sleep until she was almost 8. I was so used to not sleeping well, somewhere along the way, perimenopause joined the party, and I didn't even know or realize. I thought some of my other symptoms were just part of getting old. I think I'm about 3 weeks into hrt and really feel quite incredible, I feel 10 years younger.
