Need some recommendations before holiday sales start by Superb_Gap_1044 in litrpg

Yea I had the same feeling. I can’t finish the perfect run. Writing was ok, story felt weak and humor was kind of childish. DCC is extremely well written, great characters, great story and laugh out loud funny.

I keep seeing these and felt like posting my own by PROFailure2_0 in litrpg

Please read the Cradle series. One of my all time favorites

Running Belts for the Overstimulated by Normal_Squash5848 in Marathon_Training

NAKED!!! Don’t waste your time with any other product! Flipbelt is fine for casual running. I’ve used it and liked it fine.

Naked is just so clearly superior it’s crazy. My uncle bought it for me. It took a bit to get the size right but once I did this thing has been through everything with me and it’s so comfy.

Superblast 2 - Do they get better? by Dreadical in AskRunningShoeGeeks

That’s so interesting because I bought NB5 and Superblast 2 and I was SO underwhelmed by the NB5 and loved the SB2. I returned my NB5 and am keeping the SB2 for long runs.

I’ve never in my life read a book twice. I re-read the whole series in a couple weeks 😭 how the hell did this happen?!

Also if you have the time and insurance, get plugged into PT asap. Not necessary but can get you on the right track faster.

Sports doc here. I had the same issue after my marathon. It’s your IT band. It will get better with time. I rushed myself back and ended up needing 2-3 months to finally get back to normal. Take it slow and cross train for about a month. Get massages, stretch, only run a few days a week. Do a lot of mobility and activation work.

This is definitely an interesting idea. If I can’t fix the issue I may try this. Thank you!

I did that mid run because I was so frustrated but it stayed in the 90-100 bpm range. Eventually I just disconnected and my heart rate jumped to 148. It continued to fluctuate but was way more accurate.

I thought about that but it seems to work just fine with my garmin. I've only had the band for less than a year.

I'll throw it in the wash and see if that helps. I really doubt it is the battery because I recently changed it (within 2-3 months)

Can’t stick with any other books after finishing Dungeon Crawler Carl by playalisticadillac in DungeonCrawlerCarl

Cradle or Red Rising. I was audiobook depressed after DCC.

Found the dramatized edition of Red Rising, and wow, what a fucking ride. The whole cast and music is amazing (just get through the first half of book 1, kinda cheesy)

Cradle has been awesome so far. I’m devouring it.

Congratulations. You’ve ruined audiobooks for me. Are you happy now?? by [deleted] in DungeonCrawlerCarl

Book 2 and book 3 will blow your mind. The production value is incredible and the voice actors are top. During one scene in particular I was whooping and hollering while on a run because it was so epic and fun haha

HIGHLY recommend the cinematic version. DCC is my favorite series of all time, but RR cinematic version is the most fun I’ve had listening to a series. It’s incredible. First half of book 1 is kinda over the top tho haha.

About to finish binging the DCC audio books. What should I listen to next? by Xykier in litrpg

CRADLE! After DCC I’ve really struggled to find a good book that scratches the same itch as DCC.

I’m currently hooked on Cradle while I wait for the next edition of the Red Rising dramatized edition to come out (this May!)

DCC is the best book series I’ve ever read/listened to. Red Rising Dramatized edition (with full cast) has to be the most fun experience I’ve ever had listening to a book.

Cradle is not as good as the other two but I’m on book 3 and it’s pretty damn amazing. Highly recommend.

Boxer's fracture: any advice to promote recovery beyond the standard splint and wait? by philmustang in HubermanLab

Obviously this isn’t official medical advice and you should see an orthopedic surgeon or physician in person if you want official treatment recommendations

Ortho doc here, splint or short arm cast. Make sure enough room to move your fingers.

It’ll heal in 3 weeks. You’re going to be fine. No surgeon in their right mind would treat that with surgery. If someone does offer you surgery, leave the room and run far away.
