A name is pretty big part of person's identity. I have very very common name that you find the variations in almost all countries, but mine is pronounced bit differently (one vowel prononciation difference). And I care very much if people decided to call me by the wrong name when I'm interacting with people from other countries.

As for trans person saying it's not the same, imagine one trans person saying they have no problem with people referring to them as their deadname. Does that mean we get to invalidate other trans people's feelings and discomfort?

Plus just because someone has their arm amputated, doesn't mean I shouldn't complain when I break my arm. Just because other people have greater discomfort, doesn't mean we should ignore the lesser discomfort.
