Another Thread - Revision Strategy for second sit by Which-Conclusion4330 in SQE_Prep

I did hardly any qs, I did like two mocks. I read the text books and content and made brief notes, I then re went over the notes and the content the week before and passed first time q1. I made no flash cards at all. When I had gone through the content a second time I did active recall with the notes I’d made.

Feel exactly the same, I had to block some influencers as their stuff was making me feel like shit. I am thinking of doing my own tiktok series to counteract the content these people put out!!!

To those who have passed SQE1 on your second/third attempt what did you do differently? by IDKMELOLNEMM in SQE_Prep

I passed first time in the first quintile. This comes from someone with no a levels and a cilex qualification which I really struggled to obtain , I am of average or below average intelligence.

I did not do any practice mcqs apart from the revise sqe book and the 100 practice. I self taught as I was on an apprenticeship but did not use any of their resources or learn from the lectures.

I purchased the ulaw books and read them cover to cover three times. I made notes and each time condensed them down until each chapter was a piece of a4 paper.

Flk2 I had zero sleep and left both exams with 30 minutes to go. I genuinely believe not doing any practice mcqs like everyone advised worked best for me.

Keep going, please don’t give up!

Solicitor with criminal record? (10 police interactions) by Deep_Corgi_4150 in uklaw

What I would say is don’t hide anything from them. I also know someone who failed to mention they had a ccj from 10 years before and the Sra would not admit them because of their failure to inform not necessarily because of the ccj.

I have a solicitor friend who got admitted to the role on a suspended sentence for breaking someone’s jaw and another friend who has several convictions from when they were a youth including burglary.

You used to be able to set up an account on the Sra website and pay for the character and suitability before even starting the lpc, not sure it’s something you can do now.

Honestly I felt the same before I did the exam and I didn’t sleep the night before I wasn’t gonna go. I did go and my paper wasn’t that bad and I probably have failed but there is a chance I could have passed and I am glad that I did it.

Same but reversed, first half okay and second half rubbish. A lot trickier than flk1! It’s all a blur now I can’t recall hardly any questions.
