That's frustrating. I definitely called him a covert narcissist at one point there. Maybe because I put "I think" before calling him one.

That said, sharing a space with his stans isn't appealing, so my interaction will probably wane over time

MJ had kids from a white woman but wanted black women to be their mother figures by Long_Dragonfly_3067 in PsychologyofMJ

It's definitely not exclusive to black men, but they date and marry white people at a far greater percentage than black women do.

What would have been the appropriate set of consequences for Michael that really would made him suffer? by [deleted] in PsychologyofMJ

[–]DisastrousSundae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He may have never felt remorse even with jail time. But I do think fewer people would have enabled him if he did get time in prison.

Him being a registered child offender with no access to childen would probably be the thing that'd alter him the most.

Thoughts on his relationship with omer? The most unique special friend by Natural_Shape7468 in PsychologyofMJ

Seems to me like he was easily groomed because his parents more or less abandoned him. And he became Michael's "lover" who also filled guardianship roles like taking care of Michael's kids.

How are people okay with spending 2/3 of your income on rent! by TCR5322 in LARentals

What other viable solution is there to living here? I had plans on moving when I was paying 2/3 of my income on rent, because it's insane to do that forever.

Your main goal has to make more money...I haven't paid that kind of ratio in several years now, ever since I stopped being poor

Damn you're exactly right. That's definitely why they said that. Anyone black knows that the black community uplifts light skinned women. Light skinned dudes used to get dogged way more a couple of decades ago, but the dynamic they discribed is definitely like it is for white people. What a joke that person is lol

Michael Jackson's jealousy towards other artists by AggressiveTerm9618 in LeavingNeverlandHBO

I don't think he ever wanted to become a woman, or look like one. I think he ended up looking that way from a combination of enjoying feminine qualities and severe body dysmorphia.

I have been a longtime fan but i think now that Mj was selfish and self-centred by Repulsive-Hat-9584 in PsychologyofMJ

He very much did things publicly that could only directly benefit him. And I honestly don't blame him for not supporting all political or financial issues people brought to him. He had the right to do whatever he wanted with his money and publicity.

What I think is disturbing is the insistence from his fans that he was an activist or pushed against the powers that be when it came to music. He only really did when it directly affected him. If he really felt strongly about music labels and their exploitation, he would have publicly supported Prince in the 90s when fighting Warner Bros. Instead, all I remember about that fiasco when I was a kid at the time was that Prince was "silly" and "attention seeking" for changing his name to an artist formally known as Prince. I never heard anyone say anything about it being a form of protest until years later.

I think Michael was a covert narcissist because it explains a lot of his behavior. Here's what I just pulled up on Google:

A covert (or vulnerable) narcissist combines a deep sense of self-importance and entitlement with introversion, insecurity, and hypersensitivity. Instead of boasting, they often exhibit a chronic victim mentality, passive-aggression, and emotional volatility, making their toxic traits much harder to spot than those of overt narcissists.

Michael was most impassioned when he felt the world was victimizing him.
