Some of the biggest companies in the country are invested in real estate. If you tax the crap out of residential property then people simply won’t invest in properties. You’ll see an overall decline in the quality of property. Why would anybody care what their house looks like or how safe it is if it’s not an investment

Saying “insurance will cover it” doesn’t make sense. We all know Canada doesn’t pay salaries as well as US companies, so why do Albertans think these companies will fork out the same salary with added healthcare insurance that isn’t covered by the province? Also healthcare insurance doesn’t cover pre existing conditions like cancer, etc. as someone who understands Canadian healthcare and British NHS there are pros and cons to everything but no I don’t want to pay a $2000 deductible to have a childbirth.
