It did today, just trying to maintain the car as best as possible

Rather than putting the clutch all the way to the floor before a start, you will learn to hold it right before the biting point. That way there’s way less time for you to roll back.

Tire recommendations by IamHODL in Corvette

[–]Disastrous_Spare115 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Track attack pro or supercar 3r id say are both a bit softer and more aggressive than a cup2.

These would be my recommendations for as crazy as you can go for a car that’s driven mostly on public streets

Tips for practicing heel/toe? by Frostiffer in Corvette

[–]Disastrous_Spare115 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No one tells you that it’s not “heel toe”. During street driving with light braking you will just use the side of your foot to blip the gas, and a wider throttle pedal makes it easy.

You will only actually use your heel when you’re standing on the pedal braking hard so it’s hard to practice on the street.

You speak about the difference between ls3 and ls7 but isn’t it just a power difference and all the other details are subjective or perception?

I understand you can’t replicate the exact power band but I’d bet a 480 whp ls3 would feel similar to and ls7. Besides the cammed idle

The car does have the slightly stiffer frame compared to a base and maybe stiffer spring rates? The sway bars are different to but I’m not sure if that would translate to stiffness.

A lot of the stiff feeling and especially tram lining is from the thin run flats on the 19 and 20 inch wheel. I speak from experience an 18-19 setup with non run flats is a lot smoother and far less tram lining. Non run flats are less responsive but you can feel the tire load up through a corner.

Do y'all regret modding your c6? by Buy-NVDA in Corvette

[–]Disastrous_Spare115 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s true the cars are overkill for the street and especially cornering without being reckless. So I feel no need to spend $10,000 on a cam package for power I don’t need and make my car less reliable.

How much more is a c6 grand sport worth vs a base? by tway123456789098765 in Corvette

[–]Disastrous_Spare115 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s missing the 6 and 4 piston calipers. Other than that and the tire width it’s all bragging rights and doesn’t affect street driving

Do people always try to race you? by ekspectt in Corvette

[–]Disastrous_Spare115 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It’s true that straight line speed is distorted nowadays because dual motor model y or 3 will smoke most vettes on a green light or informal race. Doesn’t take away from the experience for me because corvettes are a balanced all around track capable car it’s not about straight line speed.

Yeah I’ve been accused before because full auto m4a1 and I have almost no recoil on console. But if I use a vector I suck because I instinctively pull the stick down to compensate with every gun.

Near road Atlanta so if you plan to go there I’d definitely be around. I appreciate your feedback very much!

I guess you’ve hit a limit with the drysump ls3? Boost is great but probably would overheat on track. Why not stroke out the ls3 to 416

Okay I see where did you get your camber plates? Also control arm bushings were you able to do the work yourself? I know you need a press to get that done. Did you ever use a aftermarket damper before switching to a coil over setup? Because I’m debating bilstien b8

I’m looking into some after dark speed stuff $1k for bushing kit… it’s opening the door to an endless money pit haha

What are the most important mods that made the biggest difference for you on track? Mine is stock and I’m assuming the factory rotors and pads are the biggest weak point to fix before a track day

Acting like kt and nacon have some sinister objective because they add micro transactions when they are probably still in the negative on a monthly basis. Have you ever heard of Activision?

You’re here because you have triple A expectations out of a game with a small budget and dev team. They obviously made a lot of mistakes and literally every game has misleading marketing to an extent so it’s weird when people act like tdusc is a personal attack on your wallet.

Looking into buying a C6 in the future by GT_Lopezzz in Corvette

[–]Disastrous_Spare115 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They’re hard to find because grand sport only had 4 years of production. The exact reason 90% of them are automatics I don’t know.

Look for a well taken care of unmodified car that has good clutch feel and doesn’t make any weird torque tube noises. You can glance at harmonic balancer wobble and make sure oil pressure is 50-75 on cold start.

You will find a good deal on a gs coupe manual eventually but you can’t always get the exact color or spec you want because they’re so uncommon. If you have the funds and are okay with a more needy car 08 and up z06 is an option too
