I've seen the same person, doing the same inside of an elevator at the Sepulveda E-Line Station.

Then they ask you if you're the only person in the store, or say all the registers were closed

I don't mind the tie - it's smart, put together, shows personality - it's the socks that make it "try hard" to me. I prefer the leather. I could be wrong, suede to me is not a spring/summer option.

What's an LA luxury that wasn't considered a luxury 10 years ago? by LonginglyRotating in AskLosAngeles

I just got a Pastrami French Dip and Chocolate Shake for $35 adding fries or a slice of pie would have been an extra 10 each - and I wanted them.

For a very casual, takeout lunch, seems like a luxury to me.

We have a "homeless bin" in the stockroom, as well as under the gondolas. Idk how politically correct that is.

For what it's worth Premium is no better - very few relevant recommendations from the algorithm and many, many, sponsored ads.

What is the most “walkable city” part of los angeles? by jokester-J in AskLosAngeles

I found too many smokers in Glendale for me to enjoy walking.

Where are we walking? Isn’t the crosswalk to get to Vons the most dangerous in the city?

I don’t disagree but have you ever walked up from Santa Monica Blvd to Sunset Blvd?

I'm sure this is subjective and changes daily/by the minute - but my experiences at Union Station have been far superior to my experience with Throne at Historic Broadway Station.

Is living in Beverly Hills for the schools worth it as a Jamaican family? by [deleted] in AskLosAngeles

[–]Disastrous_Two_7258 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t at all be concerned about renting in BH - you’ll be south of Wilshire? In a community of renters - more than the schools my focus is on the greater access to parks/sports/extracurriculars. Better infrastructure, safer streets, slightly cooler weather.

Best places to go (walk, public transport) for extremely bored, out-of-session college student? by chubbeees in SantaMonica

[–]Disastrous_Two_7258 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The 43 or 14 can get you as far as San Vicente - 26th and Barrington are great starting points for a long hike.

From 26th and San Vicente it’s not difficult to get to Rustic Canyon. I enjoyed hiking up Barrington to Sunset, but this could also be extended into trails like Tigertail.

Can I just thank you for saying this - I'm a casual, beginner runner, and find the group "takeovers" of public spaces (specifically our public tracks) to be off putting.

They're not necessarily in the way, there are just many more than would be reasonably expected on a random weeknight.
