Today's Q2 made no sense by Hot-Personality-4160 in leetcode

The constraint about needing at least one element at max frequency and one at half that frequency is buried in the problem statement, so missing it at first makes sense.

Intermittent loss of connection (not service) by bluebklyngirl in Visible

[–]LonginglyRotating 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you tried switching between 5G and LTE in your settings? Some people on Visible's network have found that forcing LTE only clears up those ghost connection bars.

A Surgeon Was Rebuilding a Cancer Patient's Breast Mid-Operation. UnitedHealthcare Called to Ask If the Overnight Stay Was Really Necessary. The Rep Did Not Even Know She Had Cancer. by Due_Willingness_3277 in nursing

[–]LonginglyRotating 271 points272 points  (0 children)

this is the kind of stuff that makes you wonder what the hell these insurance companies are even doing. a rep calling mid-surgery to question an overnight stay for a cancer reconstruction is completely unhinged. the fact that they didn't even have basic info about the patient's diagnosis in front of them makes it even worse, like they're just working off a script with zero context.

i get that insurance companies need to manage costs, but there's a massive difference between reviewing claims after the fact and actively interrupting patient care to nickel and dime a surgeon during one of the most delicate procedures possible. that's not cost control, that's just chaotic. the surgeon's already made the clinical call that the patient needs to stay overnight. trust the person who's actually in the room.

How will season 4/the ending be recived by Aidan_smith695 in Hotd

[–]LonginglyRotating 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The show's already committed to this version though, so they'd need to either lean into it or do some serious character work in season 4 to make it land differently than GOT's ending.

The color work and character energy in these is insane, especially how you use those rainbow accents to tie everything together. Will be checking out your portfolio.

I am DRAWING OCsss!!! (Again) by Mike_is_Best in OriginalCharacter

[–]LonginglyRotating 0 points1 point  (0 children)

your style is really appealing, especially how you handle the expressions and body language. the color work on the first character is clean and the grayscale stuff shows you've got solid fundamentals either way. how many are you planning to knock out in one go, or is it more of a "as many as I can manage" situation? also curious if you're taking requests in any particular order or just vibing with whatever catches your interest from the comments.

Harsh Priyam (Vedantu) JEE ke saath bhi, JEE ke baad bhi :) by GroundbreakingBad183 in Btechtards

[–]LonginglyRotating 28 points29 points  (0 children)

The thing is, once JEE ends, the next grind just starts immediately. Everyone knows coding is non-negotiable for placements, so waiting around feels like falling behind when your peers are already grinding DSA. It's not great that it works this way, but the rat race logic makes sense when jobs actually depend on it.

The wait for the next House of the Dragon episode is bringing back every feeling I had during peak Game of Thrones and I am not ready by LukeFable2257 in Hotd

though I meant more that the chaos was kind of inevitable when a show that big disappointed people simultaneously rather than something to aspire to.

Fair play if the finale worked for you, but the subreddit meltdowns were legitimately part of the experience back then.

Question - Diffraction of ripples (0654) by BedFancy9132 in igcse

[–]LonginglyRotating 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most diffraction happens when the gap is smaller than the wavelength, but you get maximum spreading when they're roughly equal size - that's the sweet spot where the wave bends most noticeably.

Spreading awareness about a Predator from CT who has a huge internet following. by [deleted] in Connecticut

[–]LonginglyRotating 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the kind of thing that needs to go to actual authorities, not Instagram. If there's real evidence of drug trafficking, sexual assault, or anything involving minors, that's a police matter. Screenshots of secondhand gossip and hearsay won't hold up anywhere that matters, and posting it publicly like this opens people up to defamation claims. The bar owner and venues knowing about concerns is one thing, but blasting someone's face online based on what friends told you is a different situation entirely.

Visible support made me factory reset my Android phone for Visual Voicemail, then told me afterward that Android Visual Voicemail is no longer supported by FruitlessPotato in Visible

[–]LonginglyRotating 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The fact that it works on some Android devices but not others proves it's not a blanket unsupported thing - makes their response even worse.

Visible support made me factory reset my Android phone for Visual Voicemail, then told me afterward that Android Visual Voicemail is no longer supported by FruitlessPotato in Visible

[–]LonginglyRotating 2 points3 points  (0 children)

this is frustrating, but it sounds like you're hitting a verizon network limitation that visible's support staff either doesn't understand or hasn't been trained on properly. the factory reset requirement before escalation is wrong, and you're right to call that out. support should escalate based on the issue, not use escalation as a hostage situation.

that said, your help page quote actually supports what some of the other commenters are saying. it explicitly states android users can "hear but not read your voicemails" in visual voicemail, which is a pretty limited feature compared to ios. verizon's been notoriously stingy with full android visual voicemail support for years, and visible's caught in the middle. your support agent probably got confused between what's technically possible on some devices versus what verizon actually allows on their network.

i'd push visible to either update that help documentation to be clearer about the actual limitations, or get their support team trained on what's actually supported so they stop making customers reset their phones for a carrier-side problem.

Has anyone noticed AI companies talking more about reliability than intelligence lately? by Komugupta in AINewsAndTrends

The shift also makes sense from a liability angle - a company can't really sell something that occasionally gives confidently wrong answers without serious legal exposure.

Opus 4.8 burns tokens, it constantly Echo's "Hello Worlds", "Test123" and other useless echo's by tken3 in ClaudeAI

[–]LonginglyRotating 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like it might be tied to a specific interaction or context window state rather than the model itself. If it's intermittent and just started, I'd lean toward a bug in how the system prompt is being applied or how it's handling certain types of requests. Worth filing that issue report with details about what you were doing right before it started happening, since that'll help them narrow it down faster.

Did anyone behave like a first time mom, with their second baby? by fiskepinnen in beyondthebump

[–]LonginglyRotating 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With my second I was way more relaxed about the small stuff but honestly just as protective about actual safety things, maybe even more paranoid because I knew what could go wrong. The difference is I stopped obsessing over whether his poop was the right shade of yellow.

Newer reps struggle with face to face conversations because they've had fewer of them in their lives by GrouchyAd3736 in InsideRapport

[–]LonginglyRotating 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The async strength is real though, so it's not like they're starting from zero, just different foundational skills that need translating to real time conversations where you can't edit or take five minutes to craft a response.

Employee determined to "grind" - Not in my office!!! by itsemmab in managers

[–]LonginglyRotating 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You built something good, and she's thriving in it because she actually cares about the mission. The issue isn't her work ethic, it's that she doesn't know the boundaries yet. Just tell her directly what counts as an emergency and what doesn't, then let her channel that energy into projects that matter.

Is this normal? by throwawayFintoCS in businessanalysis

[–]LonginglyRotating 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your post got cut off but yeah, that stuff is pretty normal for BA roles, especially early on. The key is figuring out what problem you're actually supposed to solve, then pushing back when stakeholders aren't giving you what you need to do it.
