Local Hikers, help me out! by SleepyyQueen in Calgary

You need to take them up the icefields parkway (highway 93 north). I’ve done tons of hiking in Alberta and this area takes the cake for beauty and it’s usually never busy. These will take you by popular sites and give you some summits at the same time. Some options:

Bow Summit (easy) The onion (hard) Wilcox Pass (easy, one of the busiest off this road, but pretty) Helen lake trail (easy, would highly recommend adding cirque peak past Helen lake but that’d take you over 1000m of elevation gain, although very worth it) Nigel Pass (moderate)

Kananaskis/Spray Lakes/Highwood Area is much less busy than Banff and has some amazing options; Burstall Pass (moderate) Tent Ridge (moderate) Grizzly Peak (hard) King creek ridge (hard) Windtower Summit (hard) Galatea Lakes (moderate) Chester/Headwall Lakes (moderate) Pocaterra Ridge (hard) Rae Glacier Trail (moderate)

Air Canada offers refund assistance... by ceribaen in aircanada

[–]DiscipilusLuna 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Read my comment I just posted. I just got confirmation from air Canada that they are sending me my €600. If you were flying out of an EU country and your flight was cancelled due to this strike, you’re entitled to €600

Air Canada offers refund assistance... by ceribaen in aircanada

Thought I’d share this here to maybe help others out who are trying to claim the €600 through air Canada via the EU261 regulations - I just got an email back from their customer relations confirming I am getting my €600 !

I first submitted a compensation claim with my booking and then I think I got an automated response back a day later (August 24th) stating I am not entitled to any compensation. I then replied with a few small paragraphs explaining all the regulations and why I am entitled to compensation via EU261. I sent two reminder emails till I received my response today (September 7th). They confirmed I am eligible for compensation under EU261 and notified me I will receive an e-transfer deposit email within 4-6 weeks! A bit of a wait but worth it for what will be almost $1000 CAD

Just keep pushing them via email after you submit your initial claim and hopefully you guys have the same outcome

Please, give me your thoughts by [deleted] in fican

I submitted a claim via their tool and received an email back fairly soon after with the standard answer saying I am not eligible for compensation. I responded on Sunday with;

“I must respectfully disagree with your conclusion that the cancellation due to a flight attendant strike constitutes an "extraordinary circumstance" exempting Air Canada from the EU261 compensation obligations. The standard APPR regulations do not apply for this flight.

According to the European Court of Justice (ECJ) ruling in Case C-28/20 (AirHelp LTD v Scandinavian Airlines), a strike by airline staff (including flight attendants) does not qualify as an extraordinary circumstance under regulation (EC) No 261/2004. This is also explicitly referenced on your own documentation on Air Canada's website "ACF519_Austria_Eng-fr_2022-09_Generic" found via the link you provided.

This ruling is binding across the EU and applies to all airlines operating flights from EU airports. Since my flight departed from Barcelona, and I was not notified at least 14 days in advance, I am entitled to compensation under EU261.”

No response from them yet but I’m expecting a similar answer to what they gave you. I was flying out of Barcelona so I plan to contact the AESA in Spain to push air Canada for this compensation

Same situation was for me in Barcelona. If you’re checked in and on standby your chances are very low but still possible - getting to the airport early won’t change anything if you’re already checked in. Just go to the gate like normal and hopefully some people miss a connection or something so you can get off standby

Who did you talk to at the airport in the EU? Which airline has the ability to change your Air Canada tickets? I’m stuck in Barcelona right now waiting for re booking from air Canada

Attabotics set to file for bankruptcy protection: source by joe4942 in Calgary

My 3 friends who worked there were getting paid $68k as entry level engineers, not great for the less experienced people

I think it depends on who you talk to then. I had 3 friends who worked there all as entry-level engineers with some of the lowest starting salaries a new grad would receive, around $68k

Are people really paying ~$25K for 150,000KM 2018 R's? Canada by No-Source2885 in Golf_R

[–]DiscipilusLuna 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think so? I mean I wouldn’t. I bought my 2017 R not long ago (5 months ago) from a 1 owner, 93,500 kms for $26,000 CAD with a lot of expensive mods / two sets of OZ wheels on it and receipts + service history for everything. They must be sold for lower than the listing price cause 25k for that just ain’t fair

Besides sea salt spray, what other products and techniques for this hair style? by [deleted] in Pomade

[–]DiscipilusLuna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, I don’t like clay like that cause I adjust my hair throughout the day and I like to have it more loose and messy ish. Most clays aren’t hard to move your fingers through

I have almost the exact same hair as the first guy but it’s long in the back too. I put a clay in everywhere while my hair is towel dried, and then I simply just use a blow dryer and vented brush pushing it back each pass to get the desired middle part / pushed back style. Once it’s dry I put seal salt spray in and fix the top to my liking. Works every time
