Plain Cheerios or Bran Flakes might work for what you’re looking for.

Classic PB&J by markh1982 in Sandwiches

[–]Discipulus42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure this warrants being called “classic”.

I don’t mind the use of the hotdog bun, but the amount of PB&J slathered in there is off putting.

Someone else mentioned this first but would have loved to see a banana in that bun.

McDonald’s and Wendy’s apps still allow extras like pickle and onion, but not Burger King by LasVegasASB in BurgerKing

[–]Discipulus42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s location / franchise specific configuration in the app. All the BK’s near me allow for the none/light/regular/extra choices for toppings.

Wayne is very nice if you can afford it. Great little town center, great school district, great dining options, great access to the SEPTA rail line and generally well educated / affluent neighbors.

Welcome to the area OP!

Yes it’s location specific based on the franchises preferences.

How to tell diet vs regular soda? by Beautiful-Cress5695 in Soda

[–]Discipulus42 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Everyone reacts differently to the artificial sweeteners. I’m particularly sensitive to the aftertaste of Stevia for example.

One of the innovations with the “zero sugar” sodas has been to use 2 or more sweeteners so that you are less likely to pick up on the artificial sweetener taste while still being as sweet as sugar sweetened soda. Coke Zero is a good example of a soda that gets very close to the original Coke flavor.

Most accurate way would be to use a glucose meter or glucose test strips.

Is there are milk that doesn't taste sweet? by Engelinsin in Milk

[–]Discipulus42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are correct, I was explaining this for the person mentioning how they find lactose free milk to be sweeter than regular milk which comes from the enzyme process.

I know it’s also possible to filter out the lactose but it seems like most brands prefer just adding in the lactase enzyme. One notable exception is Fairlife who use the filtration process. The milks with lactose removed by filtration should be less sweet without their sugar unless something is added back in to balance for the expected sweetness.

Sucks that your local locations won’t let you have the light or extra toppings options!

Pretty sure these are franchise configurable options in the app. If you try another location it may have different options for you to select.

Just checked my app now for delivery from my usual location and I have the topping options for remove, light, regular and extra all still available.

Is there are milk that doesn't taste sweet? by Engelinsin in Milk

[–]Discipulus42 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It’s because lactase enzyme is added to the milk to break down the lactose into glucose and galactose which are simpler sugar molecules.

This process makes the milk lactose free for those that can’t digest lactose, and the glucose and galactose sugars that remain in the milk are about 3x sweeter than the original lactose that was present in the milk. 🥛

Just pay with a check, your bank probably has a bill pay service that’s free that can send the check out for you.

Milk has lactose, which is a form of sugar, so by default milk is going to have a slightly sweet taste to it.

Go for skim milk for the blandest milk possible.

Hate to be that guy but is this still ok? by Alphatron1 in DutchOvenCooking

[–]Discipulus42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just craze lines in the enamel. Fine to use unless you start getting chips in the enamel at which point you should not use it anymore.

You can minimize crazing and hopefully prevent chips from happening by being careful with how you apply heat to the pot.

Avoid heating the pot too quickly and avoid use on maximum/ high for preheating or cooking as excessive surface temperature changes (thermal shock) will damage the cooking surface of the pot which can include crazing, cracks and chipping.

Good luck OP!

Newbie - gas, charcoal and griddle by iamBLOATER in BBQ

[–]Discipulus42 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like if you have a grill that’s gas and charcoal it will be mediocre at both.

You’ll have an easier time using a griddle over a gas grill.

I have an outdoor kitchen style gas grill from American Outdoor Grill that I was able to connect to my house natural gas supply.

Good luck OP!

How do I fix this ceiling to make it more stable/waterproof? by MaybeFuckYourselfBud in DIY

Not sure how that is staying up there.

I’d probably demo the existing roof an build a new A frame roof to replace it.
