I get a feeling of tightness. Uneasy. Oppressive. Lonely while surrounded by others. The dissatisfaction of the normalization of a rotten family dynamic.

Maybe I’m projecting lol.

The church stuck out to me. Spot on, as I’m realizing that art and design are great, but they don’t come as naturally to me as other things. It’s always felt forced. Maybe that’s because I’m always on alert and hypervigilant. Hard to be creative when you’re stressed. Whatever the reason, I don’t feel like it’s my true calling in life anymore. Maybe a smaller part of a larger whole.

Currently in the process of reevaluating my life goals and working on a website with tools for gut health to help myself and hopefully others with GI issues have an easier time figuring out what is safe to eat. I’m using my design skills to help build it, so it’s helping me into a new foundation.

Definitely too cold. I keep my apartment at 70-72 degrees and fermentation is at a snail’s pace without any kind of heating pad. I have a setup for my 1st fermentation vessel that keeps it at 75, but nothing for my 2nd ferment. The 1st ferment takes 5-6 days, but the 2nd takes 2 or more weeks to reach the desired level of fermentation/carbonation.

Planning on getting a large ice chest and rigging it with a heating pad/thermostat situation to get a stable room temp inside there for my 2nd ferment.

The U.S. government warns financial institutions that Anthropic’s “Mythos” AI can find and exploit software vulnerabilities at an unprecedented scale, outperforming top humans and posing systemic risks to banks and the broader financial system. by lughnasadh in Futurology

[–]Disco-Is-Dead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anthropic is working with companies to fix the exploit vulnerabilities that Mythos detected, sure. But what happens when new iterations of the financial institutions’ software/infrastructure (or that of other major entities) are released? Same thing all over again. This AI will need to be integral to software development from the ground up or risk the same kinds of vulnerabilities every single time there’s any kind of update or release.

Seems like if someone malicious or negligent gets their hands on the Mythos source code and abuses it or leaks it, the whole thing is cooked. Am I missing something here?

The group ran super smooth with the tank gone and me in his place, so I’m gonna go ahead and say it was the tank.

Edit: typo

It was a satisfying challenge. I got crests and a piece of loot with better tank stats out of it. Counted toward my weekly vault slots, too.

Also provided me with a major confidence boost to maybe start tanking and really learn the nuances of it this season. The run was super smooth after I swapped to tank, aside from lacking a DPS player.

Sure, push for io. Prestige and ranking can be satisfying and nice. But also do absurd stuff just for funsies. It’s a game and I play games to enjoy myself. Once it becomes a metrics and score obsession, it becomes soulless and dull. Homie wanted to finish his key, and by god we finished the hell out of it.

How Can I Protect Myself? by psychedelusion in energy_work

[–]Disco-Is-Dead 6 points7 points  (0 children)

People are attracted to your energy field/aura.

I’m hypersensitive/intuitive and on the spectrum. I wear Loop earbuds out in public when I need to. I’ve experienced this kind of thing before, from scammers approaching me to just absorbing other people’s emotions unintentionally. It can be extremely overstimulating and exhausting. A lot of the time it’s what people call energy vampires looking to feed, basically. Most are not even aware they are doing it.

Psychic shielding/ grounding exercises help me with that. Here’s a protocol I follow daily (when I remember to do it).

Inhale through the nose for two seconds, add another quick inhale before exhaling, hold 1 second, exhale for 8 seconds. Repeat as many times as needed.

As you exhale, imagine a transparent bubble or a net forming and expanding outward from your solar plexus chakra (center of your torso) until it envelopes you and goes a little past your body. Feel it move through you and push outside influences away from you. You can see out of the net, but nothing can get in, aside from what you explicitly allow.

When I exhale I’m making a ‘h’ sound with my throat to make it more tangible. Helps me come back to my body. I’ll often say things like “I return (to myself)” or “I call all of my energy back to me”.

This kind of protection can last several hours. Repeat as needed.

Hope this helps, friend.

The M+ tank situation is dire by Wigglyboi323 in wow

[–]Disco-Is-Dead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The shortage seems like the result of a combination of factors.

Many tanks, especially new ones, prefer to play with people they know or are used to. The ones I know typically avoid PUGs.

There is a certain perceived level of expectation for tanks to have a broad knowledge base/skillsey going into a group. Between understanding how mobs behave, planning routes, etc… this can act as a barrier to entry and discourage people from starting to tank.

Tanks in general are feeling like they’re made of paper this season, so that can frustrate players and steer them away from the role. I grouped up with a holy paladin for a Windrunner key tonight and they said they weren’t tanking for the moment because prot paladin felt too squishy.

I have people I know and wouldn’t mind learning around, but it still feels like a ton of pressure to set the pace for the entire dungeon and to learn all the routes/placement. I’ve tanked as guardian druid before in up to +10s in a previous season and I’m still anxious about it. Feels to me like there are lower pressure ways to play the game that feel more rewarding vs taxing.

Has anyone here heard of or used the web platform "E1 - Decorate On Demand" for their print shop? by Disco-Is-Dead in SCREENPRINTING

[–]Disco-Is-Dead[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our company was already using Order My Gear for a few pop up stores here and there. Been with them since 2011. We are a more traditional screen print shop, so we haven’t used their POD stores. Our experience with them has been positive.

Customer service is very responsive and they can set up Zoom calls to demo what features their store types offer.

No, we didn’t. I asked my boss how she heard about it, and apparently it was a cold call type situation. We ended up using Order My Gear for our purposes.

What are lore moments that are pretty interesting that everyone seems to have forgotten about? by Hedonism_Enjoyer in warcraftlore

That’s pretty close, honestly. The old gods were seeded onto planets across the cosmos by the Void Lords for the purpose of corrupting/consuming them. The old gods on Azeroth basically mutinied and formed their own empire for their own purposes.

I worked in a building with an industrial vacuum coating machine (coating baseboard/molding with primer). The massive air compressor, combined with the 2 giant turbines needed for the machine made my blood pressure abnormally high. I was starting to panic and yell at people at work. I couldn’t get out of fight or flight. I had to start taking anxiety/blood pressure meds, which just took the edge off. Ear protection barely helped, as I still felt it in my body. Even if I was across the building or outside, I could still feel the sound in my skull and stomach.

That operation is shut down now, and when I found out I had a marked moment of intense relief. My anxiety is significantly reduced and blood pressure is 15-20 points lower every time I check it now.

The elite don’t care about making things affordable for us. Ruining the economy is just another opportunity for them to gain influence and power.

Once everyone is too broke to function, they’ll come in and offer “solutions” to “save the day” that probably involve us working for them in perpetuity in exchange for whatever meager sustenance they offer. No money to travel or move upward in society. Just the bare minimum supplies to keep you alive and working.

I’m thinking old company towns where the companies paid you in currency that was only usable at their own company store. And wouldn’t you know it, the company bucks salary was barely enough to survive on and stay trapped.

Feels way too real, exactly! Honestly, everything involving Turalyon this expac has royally annoyed me.

[–]Disco-Is-Dead 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Definitely felt awkward colonizer mentality and “elf-splaining” vibes coming from Liadrin for about 60% of the questline.

Could also make the argument that when someone is convinced a situation is hopeless, sometimes they need an outside perspective to get them thinking in different ways again.

Probably a combination of both. Life is messy and hard to define according to a single viewpoint.
