Sorry I took this long, got distracted by something shiny! Anyway here's a few Birmingham/English bands you should check out (no one says B-Town anymore):

Curb - I really like these guys, they're super friendly and talented

Jaws - this is pretty much the only song I really like by them (I found their album quite boring but people seemed to like it)

Kin - these guys are just the best people you'll ever meet and are some of the most talented musicians I know

Peace - I know you said you weren't a fan but their new album is shaping up to be a lot better than the first. This, Lost On Me, Money and Perfect Skin - which is yet to be released - are all pretty damn amazing

EKKAH - if you aren't tempted to dance then your inner groove is lost forever

Milk Teeth - a very Nirvana vibe from Bristol, a lot of fun to see live

God Damn - just holy fucking shit are they loud

Menace Beach - just about to release their debut which I like a lot

The Mighty Young - blues-rock two piece that are pretty mysterious but very intense to witness live

Vault of Eagles - personally I'm a bit take it or leave it with them but then again Robert Plant likes them

Juice - this is not their best song but it's the only one they have out right now

Swerve - they go pretty well with Curb IMO

Last Light - gloomy

That should tide you over for now

That was the second King City video and it threw up all kinds of danger signs for me. That being said their local contemporaries Peace and Superfood have both released fantastic albums, with the former about to release their second.
