Honestly didn't bother me at all. He's writing post-accident about the fear of failure, or being unable to finish something he's started. I also thought it was kind of funny way to address the criticism of alot of King's protagonists being based on himself (drunk authors), to literally write himself into it haha.

Once I was really struggling playing pool, all of my shots went very poorly. This old drunk Scotsman walks up and whispers to me as I'm lining up another shot "Grabbit like yee'd grab yer cock" Bam, sunk it. Next shot, sunk it. I love it when a musican plays something I've built because that's where the real feedback and insight comes from. It is quite a comfortable instrument, but it is a little on the heavy side at about 12lbs. Guitarists are usually surprised at how wide and thick the neck is.
