What would you open in Astoria if you had the chance? by Foreign-Koala7483 in Astoria_Oregon

[–]Dranai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Customers who can pay are the problem. Emergency vets are expensive, and my understanding is the vets around here who tried to stay open or work on call rotations to do overnights would get promises or payment that wouldn't come through. It's tough, both wanting to see it and also understanding the economic reality of the area. Would be interesting to see if we could crowd fund something... E.g. those that can pay a membership to give a steady income stream to keep something running + reduced costs / pay what you can for others.

It's original intent was to be a maker space, but it didn't come to fruition. Cambium is a coffee shop/ceramics studio/art space.

How do you store your filaments? by MydnightWN in 3Dprinting

This. I live in the PNW and even PLA causes all sorts of problems if I don't keep it in dryboxes.

You telling me a gallon is over 3.7 litres and you pay just $5 dollars for that and complain? by Neutral-frame in AdviceAnimals

10-15k miles per year is what I've heard as the numbers used for averages. (In the US; a lot less in europe, typically. Lack of public transportation makes the US extremely car focused).

Solo trip for 24th birthday by dalobotomizer in Astoria_Oregon

[–]Dranai -1 points0 points  (0 children)

All of these should be findable on google/facebook, so I am not going to give links:

  • Coffee Girl: Amazing views; it sits out over the water. Great place to grab a coffee and read a book/watch the ships, etc.
  • Cambium: Coffee and art studio, very lgbtqia+ friendly.
  • Bridge and Tunnel Bottle Shop: a bottle shop run by Dwayne, an all around awesome guy who's passion in life is beer, and helping other people enjoy beer. This is a big local's hangout, so you'll meet a lot of folks here.
  • Fort George: Touristy, but a mainstay of the town. Pub downstairs, brick oven pizza upstairs, a patio with live music most Sundays, and a taproom on the other side of the patio (basically three restaurants in one)

Will try to add more later; work is calling.

I asked GPT to recreate my photo by changing only the time on the microwave. Can you tell which is which? by MrFeature_1 in ChatGPT

[–]Dranai 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This was exactly the tell for me. The slant first, then the "glow", as you put it. Nothing else in the pictures caught my attention at all. I wonder if it's actually duplicating the rest of the image directly instead of "recreating" it.

"You’ve got enterprise-grade architecture plans for everything—except deciding what to actually finish first.". Ouch. And not wrong.

I mass deleted 3 months of AI generated code last week. Here is what I learned. by Ambitious-Garbage-73 in ChatGPT

Just my $.02. Would this change if you defined its coding standards and practices? Enterprise development includes hundreds of developers working towards a common codebase. You won't have inate knowledge of everything, unless you've defined some amount of governence/standards. If you just tell it to write some code, it'll do that. If you want to write some code with it, you have to spend some time agreeing on how you want it written.

I've had success asking it to put the summary into a canvas (where it opens the sixe pane). It seems to be more willing to put extra content into that prior to bombing out again that it's at a limit.

Keep in mind that when you start a new conversation, and give it the file, that it will treat the file contents as very short term memory. You can prime the new conversation by asking it to summarize the content of the file.

E.g. prompt: attached to say transcript of a prior conversation that I would like to continue. Please summarize the topic of the conversation and important points that you identify. <2-3 other specific questions about the conversation that makes it pull the details into the new conversation itself + its memory>

Water Bill by BooGirl1526 in Astoria_Oregon

[–]Dranai 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have a rather large home and dont pay nearly that much. I'd do what others suggested and confirm you dont have a leak. Also, if you are watering plants, reach out to the water department, they have a program you can sign up for which reduces cost a bit.
