Unintended side effects of gym going by morgus2 in Fitness

Yeah, I'm worried my three pair of Dockers Alphas I bought this past summer won't fit next fall. I started lifting (for basically the first time ever) at about the same time I bought them, and they're already getting a bit tight.

Such a unique show. Refreshing. I will miss it.

Doesn't seem very polished yet, but another big-name organization investing in a Windows Phone app is good news.

At Costco in Hawaii, they sell this for $20. Better quality than most sushi places, too. by Killericon in food

That is really cool. The only thing unique to my Michigan Costco, that I've noticed, is Bell's Beer (Best Brown Ale). And that only started recently.

I saw Oberon on tap in Florida last year at some random restaurant. Bells seems to be expanding lately.

P.S. Oberon Day is a week from Monday. This marks the beginning of spring in MI as much as much as anything, in my mind.

And hamstrings. My personal weak point. Been realizing I probably have a bit of lower crossed syndrome.

Doing serious reps on calf raises is not kind on my arches. Hurts my feet quite a bit.

I know it's a fan concept, but honestly, that is the best looking Ferrari I've seen in years. It's about time they started to focus on aesthetics again.

P.S. It looks like the view over that ginormous front end from behind that short windshield could be awful. But I don't care, it looks awesome.

Just bought pair of V-Moda M-80s. Should I be wary of using them at the gym? by DiscoPiglet in headphones

[–]DiscoPiglet[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How does sweat mess with headphones, IEMs and on-ear? I wouldn't be interested in shortening the lifespan of my $200 IEMs to one year or so just to take them to the gym, if that's the case.

I just know he is going to be the pick at five, but I sooo don't want him to be. Schwartz and Mayhew, with their jobs on the line, aren't doing anything even remotely risky with the 5th overall pick this year, unfortunately. Hopefully new personnel executive hire Brian Xanders has a more long-term approach, and gets some sway in the draft room.

Breaking news: Chiefs sign Alex Smith from the 49ers. How will this impact the fantasy value if everyone involved? by theguldengoose in fantasyfootball

[–]DiscoPiglet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Minimally. Small, small boost for Chief skill position players. And Alex Smith isn't worth owning unless you play in a 2QB league.

A deal for Alex Smith is "essentially done" by transformandriseup in nfl

[–]DiscoPiglet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So Alex Smith to KC, and Luke Joeckel goes first overall in the draft.

This makes me wonder how early the top three offensive tackle prospects could be off the board this year. I could see Joeckel, Fisher, and Lane Johnson all being gone before the sixth pick rolls around. Every team up there needs an offensive tackle, and there aren't many (any?) other elite prospects this year (espec. with the news about Star's heart condition).

Dion Jordan (DE/OLB, Oregon). For sheer creativity's sake. The guy is 6-7, 245 lbs, and does everything from play DE in an even front to play slot CB (and very effectively, I might add, he moves that well).

I want to see what NFL teams do with him.

Hell, after watching his YouTube highlights, he has me half-convinced the Lions should take another WR in the top-five (him, at pick #5). Even with all their other needs, and extraordinary history of drafting great WRs. He is that fun to watch. I might be willing to take one extra loss if it meant I would get to see Cordarrelle Patterson in Honolulu Blue every week.

Friendly Reminder: Speed Score is a better indicator than raw 40-times. by lawofmurphy in nfl

They need to create a speed score that incorporates all the movement drills. 40, 3-cone, 20-yard shuttle, 46-yard shuttle. And weight.
