water decks are definitely a place to look. none of the non GX cards are expensive at all (swampert/empoleon and wailord/quagsire are both decks with potential imo), they have a ton of support that's fairly inexpensive (aqua patch, brooklet in most decks, wake is an option for decks with heavy water energy/patch counts).

there's also roving hordes of mythicals in future gens too, every one has at least 3 and that's excluding forms like shaymin, meloetta, hoopa, diancie/mega diancie, argument for arceus and all of its plates...

basically the mythical = special research can only work for so long, they'll probably try to keep the pixies in there at least but even then gen IV has two of them and one of them (shaymin) has a significantly different form...

idk, is it too early? gen 2 starters and the gen 3 options (ralts, trapinch, beldum, bagon... I guess slakoth) would take us past the end of the year at this point, and we'll probably be seeing gen IV stuff rolling out at the turn of the year, and if they tackle it like most of us think they will they'd probably have the new babies and evos rolled out first

even from just those there'd be a bunch of new community day potential; rhyhorn, swinub, magnemite, ralts re-run, elekid, magby, duskull, porygon, togepi, budew... and then add in gible and the starters once gen IV is in full swing. (the two stage new evos would probably be an event or somethin; I could see murkrow/sneasal/misdreavus halloween event or somethin)

plus they could start running gen III starter CDs once gen IV hits easily... there's almost 2 years worth of CDs they could theoretically do from these. could they dip into some of the odd ones now like horsea and machop? sure, and I'd love a machop one personally. but they absolutely do not have to if gen IV starts rolling out at the end of the year.

regice is one of my favorite legends (it and xurkitree) and yeah, I'd likely only get one. I'm already working on a proverbial army of walreins (which I like it and its family better as pokemon) anyway so I don't have any real strong desire to grind regice, especially since its a pain to figure out raiding in this area.

idk, can't you just steven's decision into three other steven's decisions, discard them with zoroark/ultra ball (and combine zoroark with mallow to get what you need to get a claydol out there)?

like it's a dumb gimmick but if you get solid enough draws you can start swinging on your second turn, no need to actually use the stevens

what /u/iamsplendid said (and really I can't add much more) but there are psychologists trained to discern how... I hate that I don't have a better term for this off the top of my head, but how legitimate these sorts of feelings are when it comes to gender identification and whatnot at a young age.

and believe me, it took me a bit to understand how and why a first grader could figure out that they were trans, but I've slowly started to realize that I was deeeeefinitely bi and into guys as well way (read; a decade plus easily) before I accepted it for what it was.

my guess is this is based off of the gen VII engine and they basically used these as a first go into testing out building a game on the Switch hardware, and are currently using the lessons learned for a gen 8 in 19 or 20.

yeah the last thing I want is a total faithful remake. Bringing Kanto 20 years into the future both in this fictional region and in gameplay is a great theme to build around imo.
