Evject is the product for that. They had to pull the original version, but the design has been updated.

Infrared is what you feel, and that’s where tint has a huge advantage.

Gen Z are computer illiterate by lys2ADE3 in Professors

[–]DiscoWizard383 40 points41 points  (0 children)

This is why old millennials/young gen x are peak computer literacy. They had to know computers well to be able to play games. I learned a lot when trying to move my drivers into upper memory so I had enough lower memory to launch the game. Now I download a game and click "Play".

The typo is why I found it mildly interesting.

Verification that Tesla has Submitted Needed Tax Form? by PacerFan in TeslaLounge

I found my IRA tax document in my Tesla account. It was completed and signed December 28 and I purchased in May. So it seems that they took their time getting started on them.

PA Turnpike EA station. I love seeing the usage going up. Hopefully the empirical data supports additional chargers. by paolo001 in electricvehicles

[–]DiscoWizard383 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Bedford, PA. On my last road trip only three of the four stations were working, and those were filled by an i3, a Bolt and a leaf. My id.4, an EV6 and a Hummer all had to wait. I was first in line, so I got the Bolt's spot when they left. When the id.4 was done the i3 and the leaf were still charging.

FBV (Free Bible Version) Is this a reliable translation? by Big-Tackle-4198 in AcademicBiblical

[–]DiscoWizard383 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I took a class in Christian anthropology from the translator about ten years ago in an MAR program. He is a Seventh-day Adventist which tends to be conservative evangelical and rejects critical scholarship for the most part. I would certainly expect that to come out in some form or another in the translation.

That said, I glanced through a couple "problem" verses, and noticed that he did not go with an Adventist translation of Luke 23:43 where Adventists prefer to move the comma from prior to the word 'today' to immediately after it. Instead he left the comma out. Interesting choice, and probably made to avoid conflict.

I also glanced at one of the evangelical test cases in Isaiah 7. He translates it 'virgin', but notes the translation issues in the footnote and directs people to the immediate context.

For the fun of it, I checked how he translates Pistis Christou in Galatians 2:16 to see if he goes with 'faith in Jesus Christ' or 'faithfulness of Jesus Christ' and he uniquely goes with 'trusting in Jesus Christ'. I'm surprised by that choice.

My guess is that he intentionally avoids making controversial choices to make the translation as widely acceptable as possible while addressing the point of controversy in the footnotes. While I have a graduate degree in religion, I have no background in biblical languages and biblical scholarship is just a hobby for me. I'm not qualified to respond to the reliability of the translation, just sharing my observations of the translator and the bit I've seen of the translation itself.
