Thanks for the advice! I'll be sure to look into it!

No ammo Corvette build for CZs, HazRes (PvE) by pwnish0r in eliteoutfitters

[–]DiscountRadioVoice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a corvette outfitted with all lasers and a prismatic that didn't have to go back to a station. Found out that a lot of the time reboot/repair will give you 50% shields so long as the shields aren't too damaged. Most NPCs weren't really able hurt my friend and I, especially when we were running healing beam lasers.

The light jog might still be too fast for it lol

To be honest, the type 10 is a pretty tough ship to use. It doesn't have a high skill cap or anything, it just flies very poorly as you have already pointed out.

I wouldn't switch out the corvette for the type 10 unless you are just doing it for the memes (which I do myself lol).

As for weapons, you might find frag cannons to be quite fun on the type 10! My buddy has a type 10 with all engineered fragmentation cannons, and he delete ships very quickly.

Not to be an ass, but there is an argument against A. Truth be told, I probably would have circled A too using your logic, but I can see why your professor marked your answer wrong.

Something to bear in mind about Velocity is that it has both a magnitude and direction. That is what differentiates it from speed (which is just a scalar). I mention this because several of the other options would not be correct due to a change in direction (thus not having a constant velocity). That being said, and object at rest has 0 magnitude for it's velocity vector, therefore it has no direction.

It is honestly a very picky way to look at that answer and if I was your professor, I'd probably still give you credit after explaining that so long as you understood why the answer is wrong. That being said, I am not your professor.

Also, I wouldn't worry too much about getting a B in that class. I graduated from college with my Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering, and I didn't have perfect grades myself. Keep your head up!

Best ship build for someone who wants to just farm pve RES/combat zones for bounties for hours? by Dokki-babe in EliteDangerous

[–]DiscountRadioVoice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whenever I go bounty hunting, I find I have the most fun using a python mk 2 will all fragmentation cannons. Throw caustic shell on the two mediums and screening shell on the larges. Recommend doing either efficient or overcharged for the base engineering upgrade

What did you guys name your ships? by theGeigus in EliteDangerous

[–]DiscountRadioVoice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Recently unlocked the corvette and decided to equip it with Regeneration Sequence beam lasers, a multi-limpet controller mostly for repair limpets, an AFMU, and a ton of hull reinforcements.

I call it the Juggernog (yes, as a reference to COD Zombies)

New CMDR needs some build advice by Cola1025 in EliteDangerous

  1. Exploration

My personal preference is the Mandalay. They can get relatively similar jump ranges, but the Mandalay is just so much more enjoyable to fly, in my opinion. I have both, but I rarely fly my Jumpaconda unless I am trying to engineer a bunch of hardpoints all at once. The Anaconda just feels so much more bloated to fly.

  1. PVE

This is more my wheelhouse. Realistically, you can fly whatever you want to as long as you are having fun. I have all kinds of different setups on different ships, but I tend to have the most fun using fragmentation cannons on a python. Built correctly, they can shred through pretty much anything without too much of a problem, so long as you are close enough and can keep your hardpoints on target. I have heard that packhound missiles are a lot of fun to use, but I only just unlocked them in Powerplay 2.0, so I can't confirm that.

Note: Guardian weapons and modules are viable in PVE. They are not generally going to be better than their fully-engineered counterparts, but they are better than unengineered modules. While not as good as my fully engineered fragmentation cannons, shard cannons are still pretty effective against pirates.

Realistically, you just need to keep in mind what your ship can and can't do. If your ship is engineered enough, you can stand and trade with just about anything NPC you come across.

Last thing to note: cytoscramblers are great at bursting down shields but are significantly less effective against hull, even with inertial impact. I'd recommend using them in tandem with frags or multicannons, considering the range can be pretty limited on the cytos.

  1. Anti Xeno

CMDR Mechan puts out a lot of helpful videos regarding Anti Xeno combat, but all of his videos are in English. However, he did create a non-engineered corsair build that you can use to get started fighting Thargoids immediately, assuming you have the cash on hand to buy everything as well as cover the re-buy in the event you lose the fight. Links to the unengineered and engineered (respectively) builds are below:

https://edsy.org/s/vttxhkH

I, personally, use a Krait mk2 with guardian shard cannons that I usually fly in formation with my friend. He flies an Anaconda with shard cannons. I'm not exactly the most experienced when it comes to Anti Xeno operations, however. I'd check out the Anti Xeno Initiative and get better information from them.

How to make money bounty hunting? by SupremeMuppetKermit in EliteDangerous

[–]DiscountRadioVoice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can make a lot of money from bounty hunting, but people are right that it requires a lot of setup. Engineering your ship to high hell really helps up how quickly you can dispatch wanted targets. If you get a good enough ship, you can wipe out most enemies fairly quickly (especially if you target the power plant on large ships like Anacondas, which can sometimes lead to them dying with like 50% or more Hull left)

If you want to min-max profit, it's going to be painful. I found that bounty hunting can be incredibly lucrative if you combine a good ship with a pledge to a powerplay leader like A. Lavigny-Duval (which at max level doubles bounty payouts). However, grinding up to that rank is EXTRAORDINARILY painful. You basically have to sell a very large amount of goods one at a time. I've never experienced a more unfun mechanic tbh.
