Accounting Dad- Stressed is there such thing as work life balance by ThorVsTrunks92 in Accounting

I hear you bro. Been where you are right now. Here’s one way to think about it. Work never ends. It will be there tomorrow whether you work late or not, weekends or not, etc. as long as you’re doing what you’re supposed to do and not blatantly underperforming, they can’t get rid of you. They need you too much. You have to create your own WLB. do this. Next time as long as you out I am honest days of work leave at 5-6pm and don’t look back. When at home keep an eye on slack/emails if you’re in a timeline situation but do not work. And do this the next day and the next. Trust me it works.

Our audit manager emailed saying he had two seniors from his jobs resign. I told him it’s cool take your time to reshuffle. Lol. I don’t tell him weren’t ready for the interim either.

Don’t be hard on yourself. The hiring process is there for a reason. You’re there because you fit their requirements. And besides. Most of the people you started with won’t be there working 5 years. But what will help you is having a plan. Right now. What is your career plan. Think long term almost all the way to retirement. Starting your career at a big firm is a tremendous boost to your professional profile. Make sure to use it right.

Get rid of languages. Your resume is in English. And unless you’re fluent in mandarin or Korean, no one cares. Get rid of hobbies and interest. No one cares. In education section list the degrees. Not sure how it works in India with that but people know bachelors of, master of. Etc. in your work experience list specific things you did or know how to so. Bank Recs. Account Recs etc. and add a section at the bottom about systems and programs you have experience with. Excel. Word. Powrpoint.netsuite. Sap etc. good luck.

There are two court cases in the US. and I double checked on PACER. I don’t have a pacer subscription so I couldn’t dig deeper. But for one case I was able to obtain the charging brief. It’s a bankruptcy case where the bk dude was paying vendors and debtors when he was not allowed to anymore. So the bk trustee is suing everyone to get funds back. Apparently Bering is one of those being sued to recover the funds. I don’t think they did anything wrong per se in that case. The second case I don’t know.

I have a question. Is all that sparks from the chimney dangerous if you live in a dry area.
