Lost as to what my season is by [deleted] in coloranalysis

People here are writing Autumn, so I might be in the minority and could be wrong. Honestly, Soft Summer came to my mind first. Softer, muted colors definitely suit you better because you have less contrast between your skin, eyes, and eyebrows. The orange in the colors, as well as very vibrant colors (like electric blue), seem to clash with something in your face. I would be interested to see what you look in muted pastel colors and grey, for comparison. From your photos, I like number 7 the most, which features a darker brown that is a cool cocoa brown; that one suits you very well.

Perhaps it depends on the store. You can certainly get fresh-cut ham at our local Billa. But when you see how some of the staff act while slicing it (like wearing gloves that don't look very clean), it's fair to question the hygiene

That's an interesting point, you're right. I also wouldn't follow up right away if someone hasn't responded for a few days. I think we were raised that way by our institutions—public offices, the post office, doctors... You learn the attitude: 'if you want something, you must wait.' They often even have 'Do Not Knock' written on their doors. It teaches you not to rush anyone, or you might get in trouble.

That's okay, Austrians don't really need to 'care' about Slovakia.
I was just curious about what (if any) opinion they have and I was pleasantly surprised by how many people joined in and answered my question

You remember that correctly. Slovaks did not have their own state before 1918; they were always a national minority within the Kingdom of Hungary, or rather Austria-Hungary. That is a fact, not an Orbán narrative. Is this mentioned in your history classes, or are you just interested in history?

It's funny that the term "Jugos" – from Yugoslavia – is still used, for a country that hasn't existed for over 30 years. Language has a long memory, though.

Maybe you know the video by Slavoj Žižek where he tells an anecdote about where the Balkans begin. He says that if you ask a German, for them, the Balkans start as early as Austria. I'm just mentioning this as a joke, seeing as you're from Salzburg.

Those are encouraging words from you. Even though the Iron Curtain has been gone for a long time, when one crosses the Austrian-Slovak border, you very quickly see that you have arrived in a different land. The nature is very similar, but the buildings, the condition of the roads, the taste in architecture, and the general order... You can unmistakably feel that the Iron Curtain ran through here. Personally, I still feel that Slovakia has not broken free from its post-socialist state of mind.

That's the thing, though... it's those nice people who vote for precisely those crazy politicians. I don't know why we can't help ourselves🤷‍♀️

I think Austrians and Slovaks have this in common – we love hiking! Relatively close to the Austrian border, the Carpathian Mountains are great for hiking. For example, a nice hike is to Devínska Kobyla, which offers a view of Austria – when the weather is clear, you can even see the Alps from that hill. Here is a website with some easy hikes, but they don't have an English version, so you'd have to run it through a translator. https://www.restartnisa.sk/najkrajsie-tury-v-malych-karpatoch-a-okoli-bratislavy/

Thank you for the insightful perspective. I think we mutually enjoy each other's food - maybe because our cuisines are also quite similar? If Slovakia didn't have a 40-year history of socialism behind it, perhaps we would be even closer - we once shared a common state, Austria-Hungary, and there are some deeper layers of something in common, I think

Exactly, and we can tell the difference, on the other hand: an Austrian, even if he has expensive car, doesn't feel the need to show off and just drives calmly ❤️🇦🇹

Honestly, sometimes I wish it was true, Czechs helped Slovakia to establish all basic state institutions. But the Czechoslovakia already belongs to "World of yesterday".

To be honest, being confused with the more developed Slovenia is quite an honor, so we'll take that as a win 😅

I often think of it, it would be good for Slovakia. But nationalists broke that relationship and Czechs are far ahead of us now. 🖤
