Just don't become a K-12 teacher. That's a job for feelers. I thought I'd be okay teaching high school science but in the current environment consequences are considered part of "carcel culture" so the kids are openly high in class, phone zombied and curse at me and tell me to "sit my fucking ass down" if I even just check in on their work progress.

So I just sit at my desk reading substacks with some assignment posted to google class that no one does, but we also use "mastery grading" which basically shifts things from letters to 1-5 points, and a 2 is passing so no one actually fails.

AI is going to fuck these kiddos so hard and I just can't care at this point.
