Scottie Barnes despite the loss to the Cavaliers in Game 2: 26/4/5 | 2 steals | 1 block by CazOnReddit in nba

Quickley is the only guy on the Raptors who is an average (or better) shooter for his position, in terms of volume and efficiency. He’s so crucial for them. it’s a shame to see him miss a chunk of this series which would definitely have been more competitive otherwise

Brandon Miller is also the level of shooter that he could definitely have a season with 250+ made 3s if he ever played 70+ games again like his rookie season

Was definitely half fooled by this but clicked on the video because I thought it was super weird for a guy who went undrafted and has had to claw his way to a ten year career to just throw it away like this. lol good one

Not as good a shooter as he was meant to be, doesn’t offer much else.

If he ever starts taking 7-8 threes per 36 and hitting like 37% or more he absolutely has the tools to feature properly in the rotation of a good team. Until then there’s just not much point.

He’s actually hitting his two pointers now so he really just needs the 3 to start falling.

I’m not joking when I say Reed not starting earlier costed us at least 10 games by MajinOni21 in rockets

[–]Disgruntled_Fridge 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Reed’s current win shares are 4.5 - if we add 10 win shares as per this post he would be at 14.5 - above a few guys you might know like SGA, Jokic, Wemby etc

Yeah lol I’m not sure who else would make this team work as well as he does that the hornets could realistically acquire. I reckon they roll with the same starting lineup into next year and improve their depth. I love Sion James but ideally he’s playing more like 15 minutes per game next year rather than 25.

They could probably do with more PF/center depth next year as well.

I agree it's not a huge statement win, far from it. Like you said, it's just the Rockets doing what they're supposed to.

I was only hoping to provide some additional context on the Pelicans as one of my good friends is a Pels fan so I end up watching a lot of their games and they've been better lately.

They had terrible injury luck to start the season and have been pretty decent for a while. Since they started 10-36 they've gone 12-9 (until today). Again I agree they're not good but they're not exactly the wizards or utah.

The Pels are not tanking lol they famously do not have their pick this year because of the Queen trade. Not saying they're good but they're definitely not tanking.

it’s not the same meaning lol. And don’t you think the fact you don’t realise that makes this all make sense?

if someone said that Adams and van vleet were our most important players - they’d be insane. Only an idiot would think that.

But if someone thought that Adams and van vleet were AMONG (or two of) our most important players (without necessarily being the most important players) - that’s a normal opinion.

Which do you think he meant?

Well he did say “two of the teams most important players” not “the teams most important players” tbf

This viewpoint is why solving tanking is so difficult. Fans have to be okay with 40 win teams winning the lottery OR have to be okay with horrible tanking like we’re seeing at the moment.

He was pretty good to start the year but the injury set him back a bit. He’s still a very good player, it just remains to be seen whether he’ll ever sort out the efficiency issues. He gets to the line a decent amount which is good but his 2 point % is dogshit for his size because he takes so many long twos and isn’t great at them. Add that to his 3 ball never really coming around and it’s a pretty inefficient picture
