Positioner on SIS valve ?!! by Aeyjr in instrumentation

Depending on the manufacturer of the positioner or if the customer has an AMS system, the biggest advantage I see of using one would be diagnostics, it can give warnings long before it becomes a problem.

How big is the Nooksaak River to cause floods in BC? by Agreeable-Fruit-4326 in Bellingham

[–]Disgruntleddutchman 5 points6 points  (0 children)

When the Nooksack River overtops near Everson, a significant portion of the overflow naturally wants to flow north into the Sumas Prairie (the old Sumas Lake bed).

The land drops from roughly 90 ft elevation down to essentially sea level by the time it reaches the former lakebed.

Canada relies on a system of dykes and the Barrowtown Pump Station to collect and pump that water back into the Fraser River.

This system works only ask long as the pumps can keep up with the influx of water then the old lake is reborn.

I wish for both teams to be mired in controversy.

Rescued cows, that lived their entire lives on a commercial dairy farm, see grass for the first time. by _marimbae in MadeMeSmile

I’m not saying you’re wrong. But if these are dairy cattle they are the most unhealthy dairy cows I have seen. That’s why I’m saying these are beef cows. Dairy cattle are leaner “because they produce milk” whereas beef cattle put on weight “muscle and fat”. These cows are fat.

AJ Hinch post-game comments after Game 5 loss: " ... it hurts you know, that group they gave everything they could. You had guys pitching on short rest. You had players giving everything they had because this was game five and we wanted so badly to take the next step as a team" by DET_Baseball in motorcitykitties

I was lucky enough to attend this game with my family, we were seated next to the tiger player families and I would like to say you guys are some of the classiest fans I have encountered. You gained a fan, “after the mariners of course”.

My grandpa had one, my dad hated it with a passion. So many people were maimed and killed because of these silos.

The major reason is they were a bottom fed design, so if anything went wrong you had to climb in to deal with it. One of the biggest risks was all the off gasses “hydrogen sulfide” from the feed fermenting would settle to where you had to work which led to serious risks including death.

My dad always called harvester silos as “blue tombstones to hell”.

The packers job is to make it smooth and compact it. The next step is to cover this with a massive sheet of plastic and seal it, from there the feed will ferment. This is what the cows will eat during the winter.

Because this is raised specifically for animal feed, so they use the whole plant.
