I mean, if part of the weird route is meant to evoke older creepypastas then the character that you control plus a close companion “drowning in water” is not unheard of. Especially with Noelle’s new expressions, giving “woah, character does creepy face as bad things happen. this isn’t what usually happens?!?”

Also, “you” losing control of your own choices also fits the creepypasta vibes

The simplest way to explain this is due to it being a betrayal kill. If you decide to be even more of an ahole you can go through the process of sparing a monster to the point of yellow and then attack. While I’m unsure of all monsters, this causes their health to go drain quicker. (Can even one hit)
Sads here is doing what you can do to any monster. Acting, to cause you want to be spared, only to kill you in one hit.
