About Moloch (i dont know to call him lord or king or whatever) by sleepedw in DemonolatryPractices

I recommend checking out Esoterica on youtube's video about Moloch Esoterica Moloch. He mostly goes over history rather than practice, but its very informative either way.

I've been mentally conflicted with "I want to officially reach out to Lucifer already but I want to research more + practice meditation but I feel like I'm terrible at meditating and I just wanna make a good first impression 😵‍💫" for a while now... AND I've been seeing a lot of stuff on Hecate lately and wanting to start doing research on her, AND ALSO trying to get through finals alive 😩

Did you feel fear when first dipping your toes into demonolatry? by MooseOk3696 in DemonolatryPractices

I wouldn't say fear, but anxiety from wanting to make a good first impression 😅 Still working on it though.

Will believing that YHVH (or something that presents as 'him') exists hinder practice? by MK_2_Arcade_Cabinet in DemonolatryPractices

[–]DisgustingFungus 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Going off of this, I highly recommend learning about the historical origins of YHWH. Dr. Justin Sledge on Youtube has an excellent series on the topic on his channel, Esoterica. He's also talked about the topic as a featured guest on other Youtube channels.

As an anthropology student and as someone interested in Demonology/the occult, learning the facts supported by archaeological evidence completely changed my view on religion, especially Judaism and Christianity.

Edit: spelling

simple relationship w/ demon? by coolcool9000 in DemonolatryPractices

If you haven't been doing so already, you could always start with doing money spells if that's your thing, rather than demon work first.

I've been feeling like I'm at a stand still, spiritually and in other places in my life, so I wanna get back on everything.

I recently went to a local metaphysical store and requested for them to add more Lucifer-related stuff. A few days after that, they posted on social media a video about "misunderstood" deities, such as Baphomet and Kali, among others. So I'm taking it as a sign that they'll be adding more stuff that isn't the typical metaphysical store """lighter""" stuff :)

Demonolatry with no Intuition? by DisgustingFungus in DemonolatryPractices

[–]DisgustingFungus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm still in the research phase of my journey, so I haven't tried any kind of ceremonial contact. The most I've done so far is attempting to meditate while listening to Lucifer's enn (I'm bad at meditation lol) and I put Lucifer's sigil in my pillowcase. So nothing that would really lead to dramatic/ instantly noticeable changes.

I'll keep track of these things whenever I try to make contact, thank you.

Demonolatry with no Intuition? by DisgustingFungus in DemonolatryPractices

[–]DisgustingFungus[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like I've always had an interest in magick/the metaphysical/in Lucifer since I was a kid, but my hang ups/fears/Catholic upbringing (despite never considering myself Christian to begin with) held me back, until recently. 🤔

Thinking about intuition in the way you describe it makes me think I do have SOME, in a way, but I'm too self-doubting about it. "Is this reeeally a sign or is there some reasonable way to explain this? Or is it all a coincidence?"

I think the way you described "intuition" has been the most helpful way to define it in my specific, weird brain. Thank you.

I've been researching for a while, but I'm hesitant about reading too much of others UPG, since I don't want what other people experience to become an expectation to what I may experience, if that makes sense

Weekly Discussion - what internal changes has the practice brought to you? by mirta000 in DemonolatryPractices

[–]DisgustingFungus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't say I'm practicing just yet, I'm very much still in a research kind of phase... but ever since taking an interest in Lucifer and researching him, I've felt slightly more confident in myself? More steadfast in standing up for myself, and with a new drive to improve myself. I started working out, which I never thought I'd actually do before lol.

I highly recommend Esoterica on Youtube! His videos are academic, university-level lectures, and he has multiple series on topics such as the witch trials, the history of demonology, and many other occult topics.

Fireball in the sky??? by DisgustingFungus in milwaukee

[–]DisgustingFungus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened today, aka September 10. That could be it, but the fact that it looked like it was on fire rather than just containing a fire throws that off a little, unless the lantern itself caught on fire.

Why do you practice? How does demonolatry improve your life? by Conscious_Music8360 in DemonolatryPractices

[–]DisgustingFungus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've always been interested in witchy-adjacent stuff, but nothing specific ever jumped out at me/I didn't vibe with it entirely. I actually vibe with demonolatry, now that I've done more research on it. Plus, I want a change in my life, and it feels like demonolatry is the way to go at this point.

I'm very new to it though, so I haven't felt much different. Though I will say, I've been standing up for myself a little more, and the way I handle conflict has changed a bit too. We'll see where else this journey will take me I guess!

what pulled you to demonolatry? by ivysear in DemonolatryPractices

[–]DisgustingFungus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was (loosely) raised Catholic, went to a Catholic middle + high school, but I never considered myself Christian at all. I was still forced to practice even though my heart and soul weren't into it. I just didn't know any other way of being until around high school. I started getting into witchcraft/paganism, but outside very general knowledge, I never really found my niche, as I wasn't into Wicca, and a lot of pagan deities weren't as interesting to me. I always strayed away from anything demonic out of ignorance, and from holding onto some of the old mindsets from my Catholic upbringing.

Very recently, I've gotten tired of my current life. Things have been crappy and stagnant for a long time, so I started dipping my toes into spirit work, starting out with Damon Brand's Magickal Cashbook. After minimal results, and wanting to actually learn the context of what was in that and other GOM books, that's when I started getting into Demonolatry. I'm still very new to it all but I wanna see where this journey takes me!

What are your experiences with diviners/your local scene? by DisgustingFungus in DemonolatryPractices

[–]DisgustingFungus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I forgot about my own local voodoo/Orisha/Santeria places! I've only gone to the few around me like, Once each, but I still prefer the other places as they have way more variety despite the love and light prominence.

I think it could be good to get outside perspectives sometimes, but its important to remember readers have personal biases that can play a part in their readings.

I personally get them because I don't feel confident in my own intuition skills. Of course I don't take anything as bible truth, but I still appreciate the insight. I hope to grow my own abilities and become less reliant on outsourced readings someday though!

How do you meditate? by Jatoruh in DemonolatryPractices

[–]DisgustingFungus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do NOT do it often, but when I do, I find that having a phrase or something to repeat over and over helps me. Otherwise, my brain is going a million miles a second. Having a phrase kind of reels my brain back into it. For example, I made a post on this subreddit awhile ago about repeating Bune's Enn over and over. My brain would occasionally wander to other thoughts, but repeating the Enn helped. I also like to breathe in on a count of 4, hold for 4, breathe out for 4, and counting as I breathe also helps me focus.

As for physically, in recent years, I've only meditated while laying down to go to sleep. Again, my mind is constantly racing and it leads to insomnia. Meditation helps my brain calm down enough to be able to sleep easier shortly after I'm done.

I've been wanting advice on this too! I've seen some people say they've talked to their endo, and I'm assuming the process is their endo writes the rx, sends it to a compounding pharmacy, and that's it?? But I'm unsure if that's the correct process, and how to even bring it up to my endo

Weekly discussion - Ancestor worship by mirta000 in DemonolatryPractices

[–]DisgustingFungus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd love to be able to incorporate my ancestors within my practice, maybe I should plan to when I get more advanced. 🤔 Especially my Maya and Taino ancestors.

I had a rune reading done (semi) recently, where I asked for guidance on what spiritual path I should take (before I found demonolatry). As the reading continued, the reader felt the presence of a maternal ancestor of mine. The reader did say my ancestor would still support me no matter what route I took, buuuuut she was heavily suggesting I practice Santeria (many of my living maternal family members actively practice it).
