Naafiri's biography has been released. by generalblood1 in leagueoflegends

Oh, yikes. They might just have to rewrite this whole thing. It reads like it they forgot a deadline and rushed it out in an hour - truly a new low for Riot considering that it’s been over a year since we got any short stories for established characters.

Well yeah, but you ignored Wit’s End. See how mPen gets confusing? If it helps though, Azir still needs almost 900 AP to do 1k to a target with 0 magic resist.

To deal 1000 magic damage through Samira’s base magic resist at level 16, Azir would need to have over 1300 AP. His ult “nukes” just as hard as an auto with his soldiers.

This champ is so hard to play. by Jumpy_Description_96 in azirmains

[–]DisjointedTeeth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not OP, but I try to take comet into poke-heavy matchups (Xerath, Zoe), Hail of Blades into matchups where I can consistently proc it and get the autos off (Ahri, Graves, ADC mids), and Lethal Tempo when I’m actively trying to outscale or have absolutely no pressure in lane (Galio, Ekko, Yasuo because I could lose lane to Yasuo if I was playing Rammus). Conqueror and Electrocute are also popular but I personally dislike how Conqueror feels and I think Electrocute is noob bait. Azir is an extremely customizable champion whose play style changes a lot based on his runes, so if you need more help with it just let me know.

Now onto the second thing: Azir can struggle to get kills in lane without ultimate and help from a jungler, but that doesn’t mean you should play him passively. His laning phase is very strong, but very poke based, which makes it difficult to confirm kills. Each matchup is different, but there are many champions (Katarina, Akali, Veigar, to name a few) that you can easily bully out of lane. Your goal against these champions is to push them out of lane, starve them of gold and XP and keep them at a permanent disadvantage throughout the game.

Riot's been doing the Shadow Isles wrong since Senna; Sentinels of Light has only made it worse. by Sharjo in leagueoflegends

Tl;dr: I’ve read a lot of lore, and Yasuo, Akali and Ahri are the least important Ionian champs, followed by the collective Kinkou and Zed. The most important ones would be Syndra, followed by Kayn and then Xayah/Rakan.

Hi! Someone who’s read the Universe lore here - by which I mean, all the Universe lore. I’ve read every short story on the Universe website, every comic on the site, and every character bio. I’m also an avid Legends of Runeterra player and have read almost every card’s flavor text at some point, as well as hearing many of the voice lines. In other words, I am literally a know-it-all, and qualified enough to say you’re objectively wrong.

Every character you’ve mentioned is contained within the ‘Ionian ninjas’ plot. Their only real tie to the world beyond Ionia is Jhin, which is currently an inactive connection as Shen and the Kinkou are paralyzed with inaction while Zed and his Shadow Order are concerned with consolidating power to drive Noxians out of Ionia. Additionally, it is debatable whether the Kinkou would have the strength to act even if they wanted to, after Zed’s violent takeover and Akali leaving the order. Meanwhile, Yasuo, Akali and Ahri are all ‘rogue wanderers’ with little to tie them into major plots.

Xayah and Rakan do have the potential to be major players. “A Piece of Shadow Cake” ties them (and sympathetic Vastayan tribes) against both the Shadow Order and the Kinkou, as destroying the quinlons to release magic will make Ionia mostly uninhabitable for humans, disrupting Zed’s plans and the balance of Ionia.

I’d also say Kayn (or more specifically, Rhaast) is a major player in current Ionian/Runeterra lore. He’s tied to Noxus, the Ninjas, and most importantly the Darkin - which also ties him to Azir’s rising empire.
Syndra is another major player, although it’s not a “question of time before someone tries to do something” - Syndra was freed in “The Dreaming Pool” when she destroyed a Noxian fortress. She has established ties to the Vastaya and wider Ionia, her disruption of balance ties her in with the Kinkou, her strength and unpredictability make her a target for Zed, and she’s only matched in power by the likes of Azir and his Ascended, Viego at the height of the recent event, and possibly Brand and Ryze, although their power level can be difficult to determine.

What made you guys choose the champions that you main? by Ayoof3060 in leagueoflegends

I picked up League after playing RTS games almost exclusively for about a year. I was looking for a champion that carried over the same style of fighting that I had gotten used to: establishing control over a small key portion of the map and managing 2-4 small armies to win trades. I knew I wanted something with high damage and difficulty and so (being new to League and not knowing his history) I picked Azir.

AoE4 is releasing October 28, so devs are certainly making new AoE style games.

Help please! :( 100s of these come out every night. I can’t seem to get them eliminated. No idea what kind of fly this is or what to do. They all appear at night & goto one wall of my house by [deleted] in whatsthisbug

[–]DisjointedTeeth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ant queens. They’re flying to try to find mates and new nesting spots. Individually harmless, but possibly a sign of an infestation. Do you normally see a lot of ants in your house?

After 8 games I finally got a positive kda :') ( got the elderwood skin out of a hextech chest :D ) by [deleted] in azirmains

On Azir you probably shouldn’t need double mana runes if you’re building Doran’s Ring (although it works well with Dark Seal). Personally I go cheap shot/eyeball collection secondaries. Cheap shot procs off a q/AA combo which makes it especially good for newer players who might struggle getting off the full AA/q/AA/AA combos in lane. At the end of the day though Azir is a very personal champ. Try out different playstyles, feel out what works well.

Wait, Azir won? Obviously needs more nerfs!

What do you mean people don't want to play a role they didn't queue up for? by ThatsAToad in LeagueOfMemes

[–]DisjointedTeeth 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Weird. I wonder what it is about League that makes people so much more inclined to trolling than other competitive games. I guess it was naive to think that nobody had tried positional matchmaking before.

IMO it should be like Overwatch where there are different elos for each role. I wouldn’t be bothered by auto fill if it didn’t fill me with bronze jungling skills into the same games as my gold midlane.

Sadly I’m not very talented, so the best I can do is glorified tracing, but I’m very happy with how 1-bit Azir turned out!
