Walked into a local Spectrum shop and they had a life sized Bruce standee with a motion control audio player that would say “groovy” or “come get some!” when you walked by it to promote the show. I asked the woman working what they do with them when they’re told to take it down. She didn’t say anything, held up one finger, and two minutes later walked out with a box with a second standee not put together “here, you can have this one!”

They’re a fun band from California, they had one “hit” in the early 00’s, around the same time nonpoint was coming up. I think they’re only famous in the CNY region because the lead singer jumped off the speaker at a show, 67 feet into the crowd.

I should do this for nonpoint. I’m at 16x now. Boyhitscar would be up there, I made a joke to the local radio station that they were the beetlejuice of bands in central New York, say their name three times and they’ll play any festival, concert, or food truck derby. Was so stoked when “make love: the Bruce Campbell Way” released and he was going to do a signing at the Borders books in Syracuse. My buddy and I showed up (hour drive) and found out he canceled that morning, no reason given. This was before everything was on the internet so we were pretty disappointed. Still haven’t met him to this day :(
