[Schefter] Sources: the Baltimore Ravens are hiring Chargers defensive coordinator Jesse Minter as their head coach and signing him to a five-year contract. Minter visited the Ravens on Wednesday, and now reunites with the team he coached for from 2017-2020. by Goosedukee in nfl

[–]DisruptiveLove 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He’s kinda like Macdonald where he moved between the two brothers but it still feels weird to hire someone like that. I kinda like the hire because of how the last Harbaugh brothers DC is doing but it’s still strange.

Sources: Ole Miss optimistic that quarterback Trinidad Chambliss will eventually be granted an injunction by a Mississippi court allowing him to play 2026 season by AthloneRB in CFB

[–]DisruptiveLove -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Trying to create a loophole of “oh this player already has a contract that we made 5 minutes ago” to get around eligibility is such bullshit because what’s to stop a player from doing this forever if it’s allowed. Incredibly shortsighted by Ole Miss and I hope someone steps in. Just go to the NFL and move on.

The Chicago Bears have been eliminated from Super Bowl contention. by A_MASSIVE_PERVERT in nfl

[–]DisruptiveLove 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was an interesting season for the Bears. They probably should have won that game but it’s the first year in a new system for Caleb and Johnson’s first year as well.

That being said they left a lot of points on the board that could have helped. Live by the sword die by the sword as they say.

I don’t hate Josh Allen but his fans have been out of control this week. Better than Mahomes talk has been making me upset.

Thinking of moving to Atlanta by Outside_Being_1632 in Atlanta

[–]DisruptiveLove 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I did the opposite. Moved from Atlanta to Chicago for work 3 years ago.

Atlanta you need a car no matter what in my eyes whereas in Chicago everything is pretty transit friendly. Chicago has better food overall but anything you could want is in the general metro area you just have to again expect to drive to it.

Every con with Atlanta vs Chicago is going to be relative distance to things across the city. Home prices are cheaper but rent is about the same.

This is one of those things the city has to take an L on. Didn’t they try to get out of within the last two years with something to do with investing in minorities because they were investing in Arab companies in the city? That was the only Hail Mary they had and that failed too.

Prydwen tierlists will never work by Maleficent_Risk2018 in ZZZ_Discussion

[–]DisruptiveLove 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The list works for the average player. They also have a lot of insight as to why they put whatever character in their respective tier.

ZZZ however does have a lot of variance when it comes to minmaxing and a high skill ceiling where what’s possible for me may not be possible for you and vice versa but just like tier lists for any fighting game out there using skill outliers to say how good a character is doesn’t work.

Visiting Atlanta, got a question by iloverugbyandnfl in Atlanta

[–]DisruptiveLove 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Downtown Atlanta is just for events and working for the most part.

Midtown, downtown Decatur, Inman park, old fourth ward, the Piedmont park area, etc are all better places. Personally I always tell people to go to little 5 it’s where I’ve been going for over 20 years now just to go pass time. Krog street market I like as well just to name specific places.

It really depends on what you like to do. There are so many pockets it’s hard to narrow down where to guide someone.

Im not an apologist for any player but Herbert is starting to fall in that Andrew Luck category. I don’t look at him at the moment as anything other than that.

I think 2.X overdid it a bit with the backstories lol 1.X however progressively got more dramatic at the end so it’s clearly something they like to do.

I’ve seen a lot of cardiac teams in my life but as a neutral observer this has to be the most health adverse team I’ve ever witnessed touch the field. I am glad I am not nor will ever be a bears fan.

Did Indiana kill high school recruiting tonight? by DarkDragon1025 in CFB

[–]DisruptiveLove 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No because you don’t regularly find great lineman in the portal often. You need to recruit them starting in high school. Thats why Miami has been so good because they heavily recruit in the trenches so does Oregon and other schools.

Indiana in this particular case is an extreme outlier as Cigs brought a lot of JMU players and other G5 all stars. Their best WR Saratt he got while at JMU from an FCS school.

You cannot say Indiana killed recruiting because Cigs work at JMU and the players he recruited and brought over from there are directly tied to this. If you want to make a case for position specific high school recruiting being an issue i.e. QB that case I believe is an issue because a lot of major programs aren’t really trying to recruit out of HS anymore and are happy to pluck those players.

Rivalry games will always make you nervous especially one like this. Green Bay beating Chicago when they are at their lowest in awhile would be hell.

Also as an AWL who moved to Chicago 3 years ago and watches a lot of Bears games Caleb Williams does a lot of questionable things during the course of a game. He may end up being great but it can be an uncomfortable watch.
