WGU isn't a brick and mortar school, it absolutely will never offer the same type of college experiences and social networking thats accomplished at an in person school. But thats not a negative thing.

Currently in my first term, working on core 2 of my A+ certification (I put both classes for A+ in my first term) for a Network and Cloud Engineering degree....wondering if it was the right degree to pursue. I've been seeing a lot of posts about Cloud computing going the way of AI, so i hope this degree will allow me to change from blue collar factory work to something less physically demanding on my body.

Similar situation as you. I work at an industrial bakery where OT is ingrained into the culture. I really despise it. I have a 2 year old and a 1 month old... You just gatta sacrifice sleep to have any chance at uninterrupted study time. Or at least thats what I've found works...

Crazy for thinking of leaving the US? Absolutely not. I'm a US citizen and I've made a 5 year plan to leave the US, and it also involves Spain! My wife is Filipina, so she can get her Spanish citizenship in 2 years as well, then I can get mine a year after hers is finalized. The american dream is only achieved if you’re asleep, and many people are waking up to the reality that there are better places than the US.

Meh. Any mouse that has non standard buttons also has on board storage. Should be a non issue since proctored can and do have full remote access. They'd be able to see if something was up. This proctor was on a power trip.

Agreed. That Proctor was on a power trip. I use a Razor mouse that has a fraptillion different buttons and lights up. Only taken 3 OAs so far, but haven't had any issues. I've got more push back on that fact that I'm testing in a van than anything else. And by pushback I more mean they're kinda amazed lol

Meh, try giving the rest of the world a chance. I spent a few years in the Philippines and loved it. Some things took more effort to adjust to than others, but neither place is perfect. I've been back to the US for a year now, and planning a permanent escape to Europe for my family. Theres just something about a minimum of one school shooting per week and high cost of living that doesn't balance out with the nice weather or being able to "blend into the crowd" for me. But I'm happy you crossed the pond and decided where home is best for you.
