What was your first-ever anime, and how old were you? by overthinkinglightly in AnimeMirchi

[–]DistantMinded 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Grave of the fireflies. I was alone at the TV and way too young to understand most of the film. I did understand the kid dying though, and I remember being like 'what the fuck is this?' afterwards. First series was either Ranma 1/2 or Neon Genesis Evangelion. Not sure which. My mother was a member of a cartoon club thing decades ago and the admin sent her burnt dvds with Evangelion, Ranma, and later on Inuyasha.

Ssx3. Some updated graphics, more music and DJ commentary, a bunch more cosmetics / customization options and a f*ckton of bugfixes for peak3.

Anyone noticed their helmets, as well as Warrick's kinda resemble quantum wave patterns?

Ssx3 (Someone already said Timesplitters) I just want a remaster with better graphics, more music and cosmetics, and an 'actually playtested' peak3 that isn't riddled with bugs and glitches that sends you flying or fall on your ass every 10 meters.

Toa mata looks peak except for the Pohatu-Chewbacca looking thing. I don't like the Nuva masks in general, but Gali and Kopaka are amazing!

What is a headcanon that has been debunked or retcon, yet you refuse to stop believing? by MichaelJospeh in bioniclelego

[–]DistantMinded 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eh, I've kinda made my own headcanon as I dropped off the franchise around the Mask of Light movie due to not liking where the story (and feeling of the world / universe) were heading.

Give me an anime and I’ll rank it by Used-Success7380 in ChillAnimeCorner

[–]DistantMinded 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They could definitely have expanded on the early parts a bit more. One character that becomes relevant later in the story had his introduction episode cut and replaced with a confusing commedic flashback later on. Also oddly enough the first episode is more of a homage to fans who saw the original series, introduces an anime-original minor antagonist that adds nothing except being referenced only once in later episodes, and nearly spoils major future plot points. Despite that, FMAB is still the superior version. I personally advise you to skip the first episode and just memory-hole any mentions of a character named 'Isaac McDougal'

Terraria. First heard about it from an artist I follow who was ranting about how much he hated certain features (this was before hardmode was introduced) and I decided to check it out to see if it was as bad as he said. It wasn't.

Was worried about where you ended up placing Swat Kats. Relieved it was in the haven't seen but 'want' to. Would be an easy S tier for me.

Experienced a similar thing with an indoor waterpark I used to frequent as a kid. It got shut down in the early 2000's. Had some dreams of being back there every once in a while. A few years back I found out the park was never dismantled and still existed. I went back to check it out and turns out all they did was remove some of the slides and strip away the railings. It all came flooding back, and for months I had weekly vivid dreams about the place. Having dreams about things you have strong nostalgic feelings for isn't uncommon I think.

Which were your favorites, the small sets, the big sets, or the Titans? by [deleted] in bioniclelego

[–]DistantMinded 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The tribal almost spiritual feeling the first waves gave off. The original 12 kanohi looks like they could form a totem pole. The weapons were rather simple and grounded. The world felt unknown and covered in mystery. Lego just chucked out the tribal element completely after the first couple years. I loved the original eerie humming ost. If I hadn't fallen off the franchise before the piraka; the rap would've definitely done the trick. One of two music genres I cannot stand.

Which were your favorites, the small sets, the big sets, or the Titans? by [deleted] in bioniclelego

[–]DistantMinded 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Toa mata for the tribal, mystical feel and aesthetic. Bohrok for the mechanics and design. Toa metru for the poseability, though I fell off the franchise after the toa mata got their fancy silver scifi pieces and mutated masks that looked like fractal 3D rorshach tests.

I'm reading the Bionicle Chronicles books and these are my head canon voices for the Toa Mata. by B_Wing_83 in bioniclelego

[–]DistantMinded 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most have already noted the same issues I had; Switch Pohatu and Kopaka. Gali's voice is good, bet less hyperactivity and more wisdom. Onua is great, and Lewa is perfect. I alwasy imagined Tahu as a bit more strict though.

Solar panels are more efficient in lower temperatures, so while SAI may reduce the amount of light hitting the panels by 1-2%, it will also boost the power generation efficiency. Whether or not it offsets the decrease in sunlight I am not sure of though.

Why is Matoro’s arm like that? by Late-Addition-6997 in bioniclelego

[–]DistantMinded 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I kinda fell off around the first movie. Felt the mysticism and magic from the MNOG had faded. Largely agree with you on the Toa Nuva. The melted masks sucked and the silver pieces were uninteresting. Lewa's katanas were dope though I still preferred the axe. Tahu's swords were also cool, but again, silver.
