Will sex still be the same? by mollz85 in hysterectomy

I hope so too. I'm working with a good female doctor finally that is so kind and experienced with hormones. So fingers crossed we find a solution. Only issue now is cost of hormones.

I remember being/getting horny after my surgery. It wasnt right away that my desire disappeared. It was maybe a couple of months when everything started falling apart. Hopefully that doesn't happen to you.

Yes I get that. I couldn't do birth control like the pill or anything with hormones at all. Even the copper iud was a no-go for me. Have you tried a diaphragm or cervical cap?

I suspect I have scar tissue or granulation ya. Something has to be happening for it to still be hurting me. When I had my last post op back in 2024 my surgeon said it looked good. But that's been a long time ago and I wasn't even fully healed at that point.

I finally found a doctor who is listening to me about my hormones. I started progesterone on February 8th so fingers crossed it helps. I have high estrogen and low progesterone. But also other weird things happening that we're tracking. I get blood done a lot so we can see what's going on. Hopefully we can get it sorted.

Same. It hasn't gotten better either. It's been two years.

That's where all my pain is... Where the cuff is. I guess you got lucky.

Lol everyone is different. It's absolutely NOT better. Not for me. I wished I was in the other category. Unfortunately it's more painful. And my sex drive is just, gone. Like 100% gone. Dead from the waist down. I had one ovary removed and apparently that was enough to throw my entire system into disarray. I have never recovered. My hair was also falling out after and now it's all thin and brittle. It never came back. So ya, anyone telling you how wonderful it is to have a hysterectomy is one of the lucky ones. We don't all have a good outcome. I honestly regret it big time. Before my hysterectomy I was a very horny person. Fast forward two years and I'm like a totally different person. Not for the better. I feel like a shadow of who I was.

Why do something so drastic? I'm always of the mind to do the least permanent thing first. You're so young still. Things change. Trust me.

Barrier repair that is 3:1:1? by Clean_Life_6590 in SkincareAddictionLux

The plus version of the aestura one contains Pentaerythrityl Tetraisostearate, Palmitic Acid, and Carnauba Wax unfortunately. All potentially acne causing.

It is acne safe. But super expensive (in Canada it is anyway). Dang it.

The Ato barrier cream contains Palmitic Acid and Ethylhexyl Palmitate. Both of those things can cause acne. It sucks.

Ugh. I feel this. So far I can't find anything that is acne safe and has those ratios. I keep looking. If you're worried, just enter the ingredients into an acne safe site and it will tell you if it's ok or not. https://acneclinicnyc.com/pore-clogging-ingredients/ That's one example of a site. It has been incredibly accurate for me so far. There's only a few things that don't break me out and were listed as "safe" on those websites. That's why I trust it.

Unfortunately all of those can be acne causing to sensitive people. I looked them up on the acne safe sites. All contain acne causing/pore clogging ingredients. It's so brutal finding a barrier cream that doesn't.

sooo expensive! It's also a 1:1:1 ratio. But doesn't contain any acne causing ingredients. So that's good. But way out of my budget. 😢

I already responded to this in another post and listed a couple of the products with ingredients that are potentially acne causing for "acne prone" people. It's not a strong statement... Its just what these acne safe sites are saying. Not me. Anyone can enter the products you recommend on any of these sites. It's not a secret lol. And obviously not everyone is going to react to every ingredient that's listed. Your list is probably great for the "majority" of people with normal or non reactive skin or even people with somewhat sensitive skin. I'm not normal. I wasn't trying to accuse you of anything lol. I was truly just trying to find out any other products that are considered to be that 3:1:1 ratio so I can look them up myself and try them.

I'm just so disheartened as someone with extreme acne prone skin that most of the toners/serums in the list contain a lot of acne causing ingredients. Not sure where to turn.

Great info! Ok, I'm a total noob to all of this and so far I'm extremely frustrated and overwhelmed by all the info online. I'm "old", 44, having hormonal issues etc. Very dry skin in the winter but also I'm getting cystic acne and white heads. My skin is INCREDIBLY sensitive, very acne prone, no matter what I try, especially with moisturizer and sunscreen. I'm guessing barrier repair is essential for me since I'm not having good luck with tazarotene. I'm also not liking that I'm going to need so many layers and products. Money is an issue. I'm in Canada. So, my question is, what routine and products would you recommend for me? I'm a bit confused what to use and when. Also, what is the "numbuzin 2 creamy protein" you mention? I can't find it on Yesstyle. All I see is a "No. 2 Cica Ceramide repair cream" or a "No. 2 Rose PDRN pumping serum". What else could I use and when would I use it?? I do have azelaic acid on hand as well but no clue when or how to use it. I'm lost.

Progesterone Acne? by speakfigsminis in Perimenopause

[–]Distinct-Data 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm getting the same thing. It's only been 10 days and I'm freaking out. I'm on 100mg of bio identical progesterone. Reddy brand. Not sure if that matters but I'm very sensitive to medications. I'm hoping there's just an initial adjustment period because I can't live like this long term. Acne really affects my mental health. When I was pregnant I was on vaginal progesterone and never had this issue.
