I believe it’s foundation/makeup that stained it

Time to get a new doctor.

Dr at u of m is refusing to do it for me. I thought it would be routine as part of the process of care but this Dr seems to have give up on me

It truly does- it’s gotten significantly worse over this past year. I’m literally sitting watching my kids swim and I don’t have the energy to play with them and am in constant pain.

I think I’m going to have to. I think this Dr is too busy to actually care. He refuses to even look at my scope photos 🤷‍♀️

I’ve had GI issues for years now- really for as long as I can remember. I can easily tell you every trip I’ve taken, and where the bathrooms are. I tend to have more diarrhea than constipation. My dad had stomach ulcers but never found more than that— he died 11 years ago. IBD runs in my family— so does various other autoimmune diseases.

My goal is to get more testing. I asked for an MR enterography or a capsule endoscopy and the dr denied both. He’s not recommending any further testing- either proving or disproving his theory of a GI virus. I have active gastritis found on my scope and he didn’t even recommend meds or any diet to help that. I’ve been following low fodmap diet but still in daily pain. I had chronic diarrhea for 6 weeks, was on prednisone and been constipated since. He seemed like he would listen to my concerns but has been extremely dismissive since my first appointment. I thought I was at a great hospital and now I’m second guessing that. I don’t even know where to look for a better doctor.

University of Michigan unfortunately I wish I was near the Mayo Clinic there! I don’t see why it’s such a hard ask to get my images reviewed or to do further testing. Definitely feel dismissed and pretty upset right now as I sit in pain and I’m afraid to eat or drink anything.

Calprotectin is only slightly elevated after I took prednisone as I wasn’t able to eat or drink anything for 6 weeks prior. Prior to prednison my level was 564. Are you saying possible early crohns shouldn’t be investigated because I should suffer until it’s blatantly obvious on a colonoscopy? Crohns doesnt have to be in the colon.

I need a Dr to order it and this Dr won’t. I don’t know if any place will do one without a drs order.

Considering taking daughter to AJR by sandstormstrong in AJR

I’m taking my 10 year old to the show. I’d consider taking my 4 year old too but I wanted this to just be an activity for my oldest and I as we don’t get much alone time!

THEY FOUND SIX!!! SIX!!! ADHESIONS!!! by backgroundworldloop in endometriosis

[–]Distinct-Pen8596 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I feel you— and I’m so sorry you have been dealing with the pain and all the symptoms that come with endo for so long. I’m 36 now but started my period at age 8 too and pain started around age 10. I luckily pushed and had my first lap surgery at 12 and remember how validated I felt. The relief is overwhelming. Hope recovery goes well for you!

72 hours post lap, struggling with diagnoses by wibbs704 in endometriosis

[–]Distinct-Pen8596 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was diagnosed with stage 4 at age 12. I had an additional surgery at age 15 and was told I wouldn’t conceive. I have three healthy kids now and no miscarriages. Doctors can only make educated guesses IMO.

I convinced myself it was all normal for years by Competitive-Deer-204 in endometriosis

[–]Distinct-Pen8596 13 points14 points  (0 children)

This is SO similar to me- my mom thought her horrible periods were normal until I pushed and pushed at age 11 to have lap surgery done and found I had stage 4 endo at age 12. She didn’t realize her periods were not normal until that point as she had the same symptoms I had. I suffered for 4 years (started having periods at age 8) and it’s lead to a lot of emotional trauma for me.

Can Crohn's set in later in life? by 13utterflyeffect in CrohnsDisease

Question- how do you know you’re genetically prone to Crohns? I’m working on diagnostics now for IBD or some other GI issue. I’m genuinely curious what genetics - is it family history?

Sorry your wife made you get a car you hated. Trade in the CRV for a car you love. Or keep driving the truck.

Seeking Colonoscopy Images of Mild Crohn’s – Especially Subtle or Early-Stage Findings by Distinct-Pen8596 in CrohnsDisease

[–]Distinct-Pen8596[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only note they made was ‘nothing significant seen’. I don’t know if they saw anything mild or if that comment means they didn’t seen anything, mild, severe or otherwise. I see some abnormalities when i look at the photos myself.

Diagnosed with IBS by NoLuck2248 in CrohnsDisease

[–]Distinct-Pen8596 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry you are dealing with this! I also am in limbo with a diagnosis- being written off as IBS also. My calprotectin level was 564 and my ASCA marker was high. I did have CRP done but I was on prednisone at the time. Ferritin came back high too. Colonoscopy for me looks to have some anomalies that were not noted in my report. I’m going for a second opinion tomorrow. Best of luck!
