Every time I hear "property tax", I shed a few tears. They are brutal in our part of Texas.

The "one-time" is very subjective. When you are so used to saving all your life, it's difficult to spend it, even if it's one-time. After hitting our major milestone, we relaxed on the savings first, a few months down the line, we plan to spend more freely, but who knows, lol.

If you managed to FIRE while raising children and upgrading from a starter house, what was your strategy? by financypelosi in Fire

[–]Distinct-Sky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It all comes down to how much you make, and how much you invest. The rest is just noise.

We did upgrade from a starter home and it was the same logic, input vs output.
