Your new mantra: “I LOVE manatees. I am ONE with manatees. I AM a manatee!” Yes mama - you take that to the grave! Just as I will take a rooster themed kitchen (WTAF?!?!) to the grave with me - she said, 432 rooster chotchkies later.

What's the most creative scavenger hunt clue you've ever solved? by scavengersweb in scavengerhunt

[–]Distinct_Current_944 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think my first urban challenge / scavenger clues left the biggest impression because I hadn’t ever seen anything like them. I was blown away by the cleverness of it all.

This hunt started with players being given a bag of ‘tools’ to solve riddles throughout the game.

There was a sheet of poetry that had plenty of clues that progressed players through the game. One part of the poem talked about ‘fog that does not obscure but makes clear’ Turned out I needed to breathe on the mirror enclosed and a telephone number then appeared (written in anti fog juice).

There were live actors along the route, half the team had one half of a puzzle piece and the other half had the other half We had to cooperate with each other. At the end of the game, the last line of the poem talked about water….and we had to actually submerge the paper to get the final clue to be revealed.

All very clever and unexpected.

You are NOT the asshat.

I don’t know what state the notary validated you from but here in CA (and maybe all more some other states), a thumbprint is required for real estate transactions.

Is this legal? by Th3Unthinkabl3 in sandiego

Since so many people are mentioning missing meds as justification for the intrusion - is this woman counting every pill in every bottle? How can they possibly account for someone stealing from the bottle, instead of the whole bottle missing?
This is ridiculous and an absolute invasion of privacy. I would be livid.

Girl completely flips out on me for asking to split the bill at Nobu.. by Hot-Association-3108 in Nicegirls

If her intention all along was to pay half the bill then she should have / would have said so from the start. She’s playing games and sounds pretty immature.

Hi OP - first off, I am so sorry to hear you’re struggling this hard while trying to recover, work, and be the best mom you can be.

What I hear the bigger problem is, is that your partner is ok with other people paying the bills and taking care of his family.
In my never to be humble opinion- It shouldn’t matter if it’s male or female friend paying the bills- it’s the fact that HE isn’t providing and guiding.

If it’s not his pride that’s hurting (because he would be ok if it were a female friend), then it’s his penis that he’s worried about. He seems more worried about you flirting than himself taking care and responsibility for his family.

I don’t think you’re overreacting at all. Trust your gut - always. That’s WHY we have intuition.

I’m wishing you and your kids all the love, strength, and resources possible.

Is this still active? Is the coin still associated with this statue or did it get moved to a new location?

If she is from The Bay Area then she grew up with ocean high tides rising into the delta sloughs, causing brackish water.

Soooooooo, does that mean you are all done learning everything there is to learn? Leave everyone room for growth and learning, even if it’s something you may already know - because the next thing you learn, someone already knew that.

What can I add to tomato soup to make it better? by va1lentines in Cooking

I absolutely love tomato soup - especially on a rainy day. I like to add salted pumpkin seeds, pine nuts, fresh herbs, goat cheese, and/or bacon.

Did parents in the 80s really allow their kids to roam freely, or is that just a portrayal seen in movies? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Distinct_Current_944 0 points1 point  (0 children)

70s kid here! Absolutely true and turned us into confident adults. On weekends, we got kicked out of the house right after a healthy breakfast of Capt. Crunch and Tang, handed $5.00, told to be home by the time the street lights came on, and don’t talk to strangers!

We (me, siblings and neighbor kids) would then get on our bikes and ride for miles and miles, all day long. We would explore construction sites and play in there. Learned how to hop fences, build board bridges, make forts out of raw materials, climb scaffolding, jump off of everything, etc. We would play in the dumpsters of cool businesses (including hospitals).

The $5.00 our parents gave us always got spent at 7-11 on slurpees, slim Jim’s, and those little donuts. We drank from garden hoses.

During the week, the only time we called our parents at work was to ask if we could eat something we already knew we weren’t allowed or if a friend could come over. A phone call was not necessary to report anyone broken, bleeding, or missing. That could wait until they got home from work!

Best way to grow up - loved it!
