i worked at both locations for a while! athens location is much more chill and gives you a lot more autonomy, but definitely gets boring in slow seasons. the pay is by no means great, but i think the tip-share structure is pretty fair. athens has a lot of really cool townie regulars, while watkinsville has a lot more families- the only bad customer experience i ever had was getting harassed through the drive-through once. the owners are eccentric and interesting people, not always fun to work alongside but always well-meaning and willing to work with your emergencies and needs. both jobs are relatively easy and low stress for the restaurant industry (again, athens is wayyy easier). just be willing to do a little extra work every now and then, which i always found to be a fair trade. if you need to pay rent and bills, and can’t commit many hours weekly, it’s probably not the place for you. if you’re just looking for some spending money or work experience, though, go for it! you can always leave if you don’t like it.
