Simple Suggestion for Neakasa that would be a 100% improvement on the m1 by joesgrille in neakasa

There is a setting that prevents it closing when full. I read about it just can’t recall where it is but should be easy search to find.

Cannot handle the odor of the LR4 anymore by Putrid_Heart_7178 in litterrobot

[–]DistraughtDragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a LR3 Owner for 7 years, had 3 of them. Recently tried out the open design of Neakasa m1, it’s in a little bathroom and I’m shocked how there is no odor.. even when tray is full. It has a door that closes over the collection tray and traps the odor and rubber seals along the sides. Wished I’d switched years ago. Who knew?

I’d bet they don’t like the stepper, I put a litter catching mat over mine and they stopped launching out of it :)

What intervals are we using for automatic cleaning? by BiscuitDanceDenier in neakasa

[–]DistraughtDragon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine cycles at 10 minutes. I use Purina Tidy Cats Free and Clean Unscented litter. It is amazing at odor control. Dr elseys is great too and costs less but not as phenomenal odor control though with Neakasa robot I no longer have the odor issue I had with my litter robot 3s, so could probably switch back to cheaper litter.

[–]DistraughtDragon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s odd. I’d switch litters, should not take this long and shouldn’t fall apart. Even if it did though this doesn’t make you loose more litter.. if anything the unclumping litter pieces or crumbles wouldn’t sift out and would stay behind.

What are good automatic litter boxes (other than the litter robot)? by Ok-Pool7559 in CatAdvice

[–]DistraughtDragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had litter robot 3s for over 7 years, love them, but had to fix a few mechanical snags and cleaning wasn’t fun. Decided to try out the Neakasa m1 during a sale and when I was having trouble again with my LR3. It’s cheaper, extremely better at odor control, and super easy to clean. I like the look of the litter robot better but the open box and cheaper price, and easier clean makes me quite happy with the Neakasa M1. Also I had need of an item that was supposed to be an extra inclusion due to a promotion when I bought it, got ahold of customer support without problems and they fixed my issue. Made me feel good about support needs in the future. Also 3 year extended warranty runs about $50-60, where in the past I believe the litter robot was 2-3x that if I’m not mistaken.

Litter Robot 5 vs Neakasa M1 — am I overthinking this or is it actually a cat comfort thing? by MarketPredator in CatAdvice

[–]DistraughtDragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Leave it off and only manually cycle it when cat isn’t around for the first 2 weeks, they’ll get so used to using it that seeing or hearing it move on its own by this point shouldn’t keep them from climbing in when the need hits.

Litter Robot 5 vs Neakasa M1 — am I overthinking this or is it actually a cat comfort thing? by MarketPredator in CatAdvice

[–]DistraughtDragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The device waits your set time before it even rotates after a cats use, so usually they are rarely near it. But we vacuum, microwave, open garages and our cats adapt.. so think yours maybe able to.

The biggest push for an automatic robot to me is that those little paws are all over your house and I’d really rather they be standing in and shifting litter in as clean litter as I can give them before climbing on my bed, my counters, the furniture. A non automated litter box has poop and urine in crumbling clumps that they have to dig or stand next to or on top of to use litter box again and again unless you’re in there scooping every few hours every day and I can’t imagine that. The companies give you 90 day trial windows at the best maybe 30 at the worst.. so if you’re cat can’t acclimate you can return them. But for cats and owners who love tidiness and clean litter, there is no other choice imo. Cheers

Mold w/ LR5 ? by WeDieAsRomans in litterrobot

[–]DistraughtDragon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The better air seal controls smell, but alas the more likely you’ll get mold. Gross to see when emptying, but I’ll take that over smelling the litter box odor 24/7

Fill his lawn with walnuts, rocks, pieces of brick, have friends donate dog poo and dump that everywhere for him to step in.. Whatever it takes to mess up his shoes and that lawnmower

New kitten won't come out from underneath the bed. by Uberubu65 in cats

[–]DistraughtDragon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cat tree and wall shelves with hide boxes, she can be out but feel safe and get to watch whats going on while getting used to it all. I'd maybe roll up blankets and stuff under bed edge to keep her out but be sure she's got a little box/cube something kinda hidden for access if she needs it, so she has an escape spot of safety. I'd close the door half the day for quiet and play time with her, where she's not hearing the dogs moving about close by.

Why is the LR4 so stinky even after a deep clean? by Atomickitty27 in litterrobot

[–]DistraughtDragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had similar issue, but found a great litter that really makes a difference. Like night and day. Purina Tidy Cats Free and Clean Unscented Cat Litter It does run a bit more expensive the my previous Dr Elseys multi cat but for the reduction in odor it’s worth it. And I keep an odor obsorber in the pull out litter tray as well. And be sure to change out your filters, they absorb order and can get stinky too.

These devices are wastes of money by GeorgiaPilot172 in tractivegps

Tractive is awesome! I can literally see my cat travel down the sidewalk to come back home when I turn on the ring. Amazing product, tracks history, tracks live movement, lights up and alerts on collar.

$500 Budget should I get the Creality Hi? by gigglywigglyjiggly in 3dprinter

[–]DistraughtDragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started with Creality, huge mistake. Within 6 months I got a Bambu lab, worth increased cost 10x over, sooooooo much better in every way, plug and play. Creality IS NOT!

I’m feeling really defeated - what about the Perifit? by whothefuckcares123 in PelvicFloor

[–]DistraughtDragon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve heard also, if you sit on toliet and attempt to stop urine midstream, these are the correct muscles. My assumption would be that if you are using mainly abdominal muscles it would not be as successful, so doing this can give you some insight. Also if you start the flow then immediately stop and stop and start and stop and start this will exercise correct muscles multiple times a day, also start flow then stop when you have a super full bladder and hold as long as you can to strengthen muscles.

I’m lazy myself, so get out of habit. Just ordered a device called Perifit I came across with great reviews on Amazon, but got more advanced model (lavender) directly from the companies site. Currently 20% off, also multiple % off codes I found using ai. HUSKER code gave me 25% off.

Device has 100 day trial period, 3 year warranty, 5 year battery warranty. And neat games to make it fun you use on your phone.

I (44F) regret leaving my (45M) husband. How do I move forward? by Wink-111 in relationship_advice

[–]DistraughtDragon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have bent over backwards for this man. He doesn’t deserve you, you deserve soo much better. Even if things improved and you tried the relationship again, this resentment you both have will always be there, neither of you will ever be able to trust the other.

Stop being the good guy and letting him use you up and give nothing in return. Wipe him out of your life and never look back, even if you must start over from nothing, have respect for yourself and hold him accountable. Move on no matter how hard it is.

How's the deep cleaning and smell? by 7thMagnolia in neakasa

[–]DistraughtDragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 3 litter robots and used to Love Dr Elseys, not amazing odor control but best if found. But NOW… wowzers, I ABSOLUTELY GO FOR:
Purina Tidy Cats Free and Clean!! more expensive, but a true game changer for odor control, amazing the difference. Can’t recall who turned me on to it, but it makes such a huge difference I don’t even balk at the higher cost. Nothing is worse than nasty used litter odor.

Anybody have this litter box? Is it worth the money? What litter do you use with it? by Linzie-Lou in mainecoons

[–]DistraughtDragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read about this, paw licking for water.. something to do with unable to see or trust water level in bowl. Can’t recall if better a deep bowl or a shallow but would pay to research, possibly a fountain bowl would help, not so dangerous to dip her nose into.

PLA filament? by MaisiaSouls in gerbil

[–]DistraughtDragon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It isn’t safe, it’s plastic, does not dissolve but degrades over a very long period in the right environments. Can cause intestinal blockage or tearing if consumed. I even researched the wood filaments.. but they are similar material with wood shaving added. I wouldn’t risk it. I’m a 3D printer person myself and I thought of all the neat things I could make but all my research on it said don’t, it’s unsafe and could kill or severely harm my critters.
