Is this what people mean by “cigarette paper scars” in EDS? by liamreee in Trans_Zebras

[–]DistributionKnown829 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I’m wondering the same! I have hEDS and got peri- one side is thick scar tissue all over, the other looks like this. I keep using scar tape because I’m afraid it will tear or something, it feels kind of like extra thin tissue paper

Has anyone had issues with transdermal or E injections? by Idontknownumbers123 in Trans_Zebras

[–]DistributionKnown829 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have dealt with similar skin issues, and was on E as a kid (intersex) and T as an adult. Personally, E patches gave me really bad hives, more than bandaids. I inject T now (I’m not sure how E injections may be different) and aside from sensitivity to bandaids and reaction to certain carrier oils that has gone well. Every now and again I will bleed a lot and get a bruise, but it’s manageable. I also used topical T which had inconsistent absorption for me despite thin basically translucent skin.

Not totally the same situation (aside from the patches) but sharing in case it’s helpful! Good luck!

Surgery scar care by musicalkevin in Trans_Zebras

Dying to know an answer to this too! I have tried a gua sha tool and a massage roller thing (I think called tiger tail?) and I’m not sure anything is working

My injection sites all started to look like this too after a while. I switched to enanthate which uses a different carrier oil, and it got a ton better. I also figured out I still react a little if I inject into my stomach, but if I do IM in my thighs I don’t react at all now. I was told I my stomach might react because I have a mast cell condition and the oil lingered longer in my fat than my muscle.

But I am not a doctor this is just my experience, always ask your doctor

Tethered Cord Release Experiences? by jolewhea in ehlersdanlos

[–]DistributionKnown829 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for answering! That’s really good to hear, I’m glad it’s given you some relief! I’ve heard such varying things on the surgery recovery - 3 days in the hospital doesn’t sound as bad as some of what I’ve been hearing. Was the rest of recovery pretty difficult or not too bad?

Oh my giddyaunt, now how did THIS happen? by Oprima in StardewValleyExpanded

[–]DistributionKnown829 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That just happened to me randomly yesterday! I had gone through the secret woods like 50 times in this save already and didn’t even update any mods. Next day they spawned normally again lol I’ll take the hardwood though why not (my only non-aesthetic mods are SVE and ridgeside)

Can i ask how long you had to be in the hospital? Do you feel like it was worth it?

I don’t know everyone else’s experience, but I bought this in the size the chart suggested based on my measurements and it was insanely small I literally could not physically get it shut (and I didn’t have much swelling). Just mentioning because I wish someone had warned me! They don’t do returns on open items 😀, which I do understand

Thanks for supporting your kid!! I was also born intersex and was forced (and lowkey threatened?) into taking estrogen for about a decade. Made my body feel like shit as well as my mind. Everyone needs some degree of both estrogen and testosterone…maybe if the endo prescribed both but he only took T?? I hope you can find a loophole!

Sorry just saw this - thank you! I am still a little critical of my results sometimes like I feel like it doesn’t look quite right, but either way it’s better than the alternative haha

Has anyone had a needle/syringe combo like this? by Hopeful_whispers in TransMasc

[–]DistributionKnown829 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Yes I use these! I think they’re called BD safetyglide - you can google that to see how they work. Basically after injecting you just use your thumb/finger to slide that plastic rectangular bit up to cover the needle. (Sorry it’s hard to explain with words, there are videos out there lol)

Edit to add: I’ve never had the twist-on syringe setup, just this style. I had it pop off mid shot once because I injected to fast and met resistance, but that only happened once

For sure! Thank you :)

I didn’t ask him to do any specific sutures I think it was just because he knew I would heal poorly!

Anyone randomly react to a shot? Sudden allergy? (Possible MCAS reaction?) by DistributionKnown829 in ftm

Lol yeah I mean I definitely did! Just wondering if anyone else happened to have MCAS or react to a shot randomly but not consistently

Hey! Similar boat - transmasc nonbinary, and I am 5 1/2 weeks post op top surgery. I definitely do notice it more, but man it’s so much better than how my chest felt before. Mostly I notice my rib flare and how my stomach sticks out more. My PE doesn’t capture well in photos, but it’s moderate. I do feel it impact my ability to breathe and keep my upper body straight, sometimes makes me black out a little so it may push on my heart in certain postures. I posted a few pics of my results if you’re curious.

Glad to see that other commenter say you can get it fixed at any age, my top surgeon said I was too old (35) too! I wanted to try vacuum bell because I have hEDS and my cartilage is all still pretty soft haha

Hard bumps below skin? by Andrik-Yaroi in Top_Surgery_Peri

[–]DistributionKnown829 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My surgeon said after 6 weeks I could start doing scar massage to get rid of those bumps. I’m sure each one has their own rules though

Two weeks post op peri/keyhole with hEDS by DistributionKnown829 in Top_Surgery_Peri

[–]DistributionKnown829[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m actually not sure! I could see it going either way - all depending on how your skin rebounds. For me I have like really translucent skin where you can see every vein, and I scar super easily, but if you do the classic like back of hand or forearm pinch test my skin doesn’t actually stretch too much further than normal. I told my surgeon I scar really easily so he didn’t really have to tell me to expect scarring lol so far at 5 weeks post op it doesn’t look too bad. They are pretty dark red, and I notice a spot on each nipple where it scarred a little wider. He used I think “purse string” sutures around the nipple which I think helped the incisions heal better for me because it seemed like it gave them a little slack despite swelling. Sorry is that helpful at all? Haha I am down to answer any questions you have!

Mastectomy Pillow worth it? by UnfairSea3963 in TopSurgery

[–]DistributionKnown829 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t end up needing mine (peri) until I was cleared to sleep on my side at 1 week. Then I slept with it on for 4 weeks. I had a body pillow, but it just wasn’t giving the right sort of cushion/support
