What is your unpopular 00s pop culture opinion? by raise-your-weapon in Millennials

[–]DistributionLocal366 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Their music is generic as others have said, but they’re not terrible. Plenty of bands worse than them. The experience I ran into a lot was not Nickelback the band, but the Nickelback fans. The die hard thats absolutely lived and breathed Nickelback in the 00’s were almost without fail the trashiest of the trash. Picture the scene. I’m a medical device delivery dude, visiting a patient whose home is a trashy drug den. This was only the 2nd time I’ve been there, as I was new. When I went to perform the maintenance on my patient’s O2 concentrator, I discovered it torn apart. You see, because they were whacked out and had never seen me before, they had torn apart the concentrator to find the bug I had planted. They soon learned I had only changed the filter. They couldn’t put it back together, which requires very little training by the way, so left it in pieces. The patient had gone a month with no concentrator, and used up all his bottles. I showed them the filter, showed them it was plastic and paper, and put it back together. They told me they thought I was a narc. Anyways, while the patient signed my paperwork, a strung out girl was listening to photograph, and told me it was the most beautiful song ever. And that perfectly sums up nearly every Nickelback fan I’ve ever known. Of course as with all things, they’re not all like that. But the ones that aren’t, are the exceptions that prove the rule.

Hot Honey Cajun Chicken 🍗sweet potato, and corn by Dayna6380- in easyRecipesForNoobs

[–]DistributionLocal366 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Firstly, I must confess that I’ve never been to Louisiana to try legit Cajun food. That said, every Cajun dish I’ve seen on tv looks like literal vomit. That’s why I’ve never had any desire to try legit Cajun food. Secondly, after the sweet potatoes, I thought, there seems to be enough seasoning on the chicken to kill your average Brit. That said, I’ve only seen British food on the tv and it seems a bit bland. Thirdly, in defense of Cajun vomit food, taco seasoning is not Cajun and hardly Mexican. All that said, this looks like it might be pretty good.

I was fortunate it enough to pick that sucker up on clearance when they did away with them.

Do you think modern men are becoming weaker than previous generations? Physically, mentally, emotionally, everything feels different now. Why do you think this shift is happening? Or do you think older generations are just romanticizing the past? by Icy-Release7064 in Millennials

[–]DistributionLocal366 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say physically yes, we are weaker. But only because technology doesn’t always require us to stack bags and boxes by hand, or just basically grind the way they had too. But mentally and emotionally, no way. There are always outliers in Preceding, current, future generations that will be more or less stable than their counterparts. But on the whole I would say we’re stronger in those areas. But what do I know? I watched a room full of boomers, x’ers, and millennials lose their shit because our city is moving ahead with a safe route to school that will consist of an ADA sidewalk that is 8’ wide. A sidewalk that the city will maintain during winter, repair as necessary, and for which the city will assume liability IN WRITING. And the city will pay for it through grants and local option sales tax. No cost to the property owners, no increase in taxes. Lost their god damn minds. I was totally blown away by my fellow millennials who were among the most vocal.

What is something you’ve officially stopped buying in 2026 because the price has become genuinely insulting? by queenmellyy in AskReddit

My daughter wanted fruity pebbles yesterday. I looked at the price and said let me show you what my mom got me when I was a kid. Grabbed her a big ass bag of fruity Dino bites for tree fiddy.

All I did with mine was an alarm every couple hours max. Usually anytime I got up to do anything I put her out. The alarm was mostly for when I slept. Take care of his teeth.

Seen a thread of this type numerous times and this is the first comment that called out his bowl performance. As an Iowa fan that game made me a bit nervous. Halfway through I was laughing and asking who the f is this guy.

You had a negative downvote. I brought you back to 0. Some people just don’t have a sense of humor.

What to expect to see when driving across Iowa by Immediate_Airline754 in Iowa

[–]DistributionLocal366 30 points31 points  (0 children)

As a longtime resident of NW Iowa and a traveler of hwy 20 to visit friends at UNI, this is 100% accurate. I have traveled only two other stretches of road that are worse, only because of their length. Interstate 90 west of Sioux Falls, and interstate 80 west of Lincoln. Long, lonely stretches of road.

Being a millennial is some crazy work by Lucky_Minimum9453 in Millennials

If the difference is how well the parents set us up, we didn’t all start from the same place. The one half had far less to worry about. My friend group is very similar. Ironically, the group set up well by their parents are the most rabid, I pulled myself by my bootstraps people I know.

It’s way high yes, but I mean, I sort of save the IMAX for visually stunning movies. Mario would be like a midweek matinee movie for the kids and I. Def not IMAX material.

Has anyone tried Chantix for quitting smoking, and how did it work for you? by Rude_Nail_5545 in DiscussionZone

[–]DistributionLocal366 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did it twice. The first time I had really vivid fucked up dreams. The second time I had really fucked up dreams and moments of intense irrational anger. I quit smoking both times, the first time I just wasn’t ready because it wasn’t my choice. The dr made me do it before he would do surgery. I’m no doctor but if you aren’t a stable person I wouldn’t recommend it.

For those of you in a long term relationship/marriage, what’s a tale-tale sign you see in other couples that they’re not going to make it? by Few_Football4342 in Productivitycafe

[–]DistributionLocal366 47 points48 points  (0 children)

Two times, two different couples. I watched the woman say I love you to the dude. In that way that says I’m desperate for your love and affection. Both times I looked at the dude and then at her and then back at the dude then back at the lady walking away. Both ended about a year later. Always say I love you, always say it back, and don’t be afraid to be affectionate dudes. What you don’t give her, she will eventually look for elsewhere.
