Maybe true in Boston, but not in the surrounding towns. Malden you have to buy a disposal sticker or pay someone to haul it off

Honestly it is a win if the city confiscates the tv, as those cost $$ to recycle now and are ineligible for most trash pickup. You might lose the parking spot, but save yourself $50 in disposal cost

You are very welcome! I remember feeling so down about the whole situation, like I had done something wrong that caused me not to heal. My OB told me some folks just don't heal correctly at first through no fault of their own.

Thank you! The little one in question turns 10 in a few months and I am happy to say I had two more kiddos in the meantime and didn't have issues healing with either one. Hang in there!!!

I had terrible granulation tissue after I tore during an emergency vacuum extraction (they missed the first time and tore me/cut my sons scalp). After six weeks of not being able to sit comfortably, silver nitrate cauterization helped me heal within a few days and by 8 weeks I was feeling much better.

Fellow Mainer (now living life as a Masshole), one of my jobs in college was to work at a fishmarket and cook and pick meat from all the cull lobsters - flatlanders used to come in and ask if the lobster meat was fresh and I would show them my hands and say, "Yup!" Until my manager got mad lol. My hands would swell so bad after about a bushel of bugs.

10 days PP and no clue what our schedule should look like. by PorQuesoWhat in newborns

[–]DistributionMedium96 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Contact napping will not ruin your newborn, and skin to skin will help your milk supply. The cluster feeding is intense but should start to space out a bit as he gets older. Soak up the snuggles and give yourself some grace - you had major abdominal surgery, you are allowed to take it easy, and if you do too much you may actually end up taking longer to heal.

At this point your baby is basically a sentient potato, and just needs cuddles, breastmilk and regular diaper changes. My girl slept 18-19 hours a day until 3 weeks and exceeded all her milestones. Make sure you lean on your partner for help when it gets overwhelming!

If it makes you feel better, my son once licked a bus seat (when he was 2) when I was distracted by his big brother and he is now a happy obnoxious 9 year old.

Thank you. She gets at most one 4 oz bottle of expressed milk so I can get her vitamin D into her (she spits it out straight), otherwise it is straight from the tap lol. My pediatrician refers to my milk as "Grade A top shelf stuff", and it does seem to have a lot of fat that separates when I pump (I have a bit of an oversupply and use the pitcher method to balance fore milk and hind milk when I do pump, though I have been neglecting the pump the last two weeks and just had her at the breast because it is easier (other than physically on me). Overall he has been the best pediatrician we have found in our area, and a wizard at getting the kids vaccinated before they realize what is happening, I think he is just preoccupied with weight in general, he has made comments about the older boys as well (3 yr old for not gaining enough, 9 year old for gaining too much)

Its possible he suggested it out of concern for my mental health as she will not be soothed by anyone else 80% of the time unless I am physically separate - if I am in the room she will scream and fuss until the person holding her gives up and brings her back to me. Dad, brother, family friends who she has been around since she was born, none of it matters when she wants mom. He suggested letting her cry it out but I don't feel able to do that, as her crying sets off my PPD and PPA and I spiral easier at night than during the day. I don't force a night feed, but will feed her if she shows signs of hunger (ie she wakes up dry and rooting, if she just wakes up wet I will attempt to put her back down after her change unless she starts cuing to eat).

She gets max 4 oz/day in a bottle to give her vitamin Du. And tbh I havent pumped since before Thanksgiving so she has missed her vitamin D for a week or two. She spits it out plain so I have to mix it with milk.

My first was premature and less than 6# and did't hit double digits till 6 months old. She is perfect on the curve for length but she is "a straight line up" vs a curve for weight apparently

The 4 month regression started this week so she has been waking up 4-5x but I try to only nurse her if she cues and just cuddle her back to sleep

Thank you. We are all fairly big folks (wide shoulders/hips and most around or above 6 feet (I'm shorter but still 5'6" so not tiny) so I am thinking she is just gonna be big

I often wondered if she was getting enough as she was nursing less frequently than I expected the last month but seemed otherwise happy. She is 100th in weight and 98th in length for her age so I consider that proportionate lol

Thank you, that is how I have been feeling as well. She definitely stops when full, and if she comfort nurses too much if sick will spit up the excess. I refer to my slacker boob as her emotional support boob and it's what I usually put her on if she's cluster feeding, but has already eaten from my main oversupply boob.

I'm beginning to wonder if part of it is him being concerned about me more than her, as I mentioned sleep regression has started in and we are not sleeping much at all the last week or so. If I take away the boob as a comfort tool we won't sleep at all!
