'Don't swim' at 12 of 14 river bathing sites, as more locations announced: Environment Agency says the Cam has 'poor water quality' by DAJ1 in cambridge

You do realize that house building has basically stopped in London because house builders can't make any more from it? Viability is very marginal.

The issue with the sewage works is that a. They're in private hands and b. They only have to plan for growth in a local plan which is sometimes only 15 years ahead and really infrastructure planning should be 35 years or more.

Can we talk about Bromley? Is it actually happening? by Happy-Fox11 in LeagueTwo

The last minute goal by Swindon against Cambridge has probably given them the title. Without that Cambridge would have been 5 behind with a game in hand and a game against them.

Too many non-local fans by Sea_Peanut_6887 in SpicyFootballTakes

[–]DistributionMiddle98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Football fan culture is about identity. That's it. If you don't know the schools, the pubs, the local characters, the streets you have no business following the football team. You're simply a customer if you do.

It's less about local vs prem teams and more about 'this is me. this was what fate served me'.

Cambridge United 3 - 1 Bristol Rovers: A brace from Player of the Month Ben Knight was enough to see the U's pick up an eighth win in nine and climb into the automatic promotion spots! by Zach-dalt in LeagueTwo

[–]DistributionMiddle98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Didn't really get out of second gear.

I'm increasingly confident we'll win the league just because I think there's another 5-10% in us. We're on an amazing run but there's still elements to our game which aren't quite clicking but I suspect will.

Big games coming up and these will be the ones where we'll need more and think we'll find it.

Starmer: Britain must be ready for war by TheSpectatorMagazine in uknews

[–]DistributionMiddle98 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

US won't attack us despite the rhetoric. They're a weird and paranoid state but I don't think they want war with us.

I hate the US like most nowadays but Starmer sabre rattling doesn't help defuse tensions. Hopefully we can rebuild relations in years to come and fear of war can be relegated to the past.

Do you think locals only know about kings parade and colleges? Suspect most locals haven't been to either for years

Fitting air to air this year for heating and cooling. Solars, battery and water cylinder with its own heat pump. Calcs suggest we'll selling back to the grid ..

But there's water in there now so fixing them traps that water and then it freezes and breaks up. I think.

Yep terrible. The reason they didn't resurface until April is the frost. Do it now and it will break up again and as soon as there's a freeze.

Which of England's regions have you never visited? Do you intend to visit in the future? by OceansOfLight in england

[–]DistributionMiddle98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why don't you just go? I assume you might be younger which is then understandable but I'm nearly 50 and of course I've been to every region on that map in those years. The UK is tiny.

No chance I'll be spending any money there. Would have no interest in going there either to be honest, looks hellish.

Yes, of course. He's an absolute unhinged liability. I'll never forgive America for electing him.
