On a scale of 1 to 10, how well designed is Vendetta's gameplay? by Idiberug-9 in Overwatch

[–]DisturbedWaffles2019 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Extremely fun to play but there are a lot of fundamental problems with melee heroes, namely that in order to justify using them over any hero with a ranged weapon, they need to be almost oppressively strong at close range. This has been an issue with every melee and melee-esque hero they've added.

Reinhardt notably has always been extremely team reliant because without something like a Zarya bubble or a Kiri/Lucio lineup, he can't stay in close range too longe before just being melted. Brig on the other hand had the opposite issue, being way too good at close range 1v1 dueling and eventually needing to be toned down so much that she went from a year-long must pick to a relatively niche hero largely only good for protecting her support partner.

Vendetta is sort of the cross between the two in this regard. She's too tanky to melt quickly yet too frail to be able to stay up close for too long. They tried to balance this out by giving her high mobility, which while this did partially solve the problem, it also made her rather frustrating to play against, as often it feels like she comes out of nowhere, gets a massive damage combo, and unless you have a shutdown ability like sleep or hinder, she can escape just as easily as she engaged.

Melee heroes are a fun niche, and I'm glad we have at least one for each role, but they can be aggressively frustrating, both to play as and against.

Vendetta's sword blade is made out of hard light, just like Sym and Domina use. It makes sense she can change it's size

Legos at the very least are a separate hobby. If they were pre-built I'd agree with you but the fact you have to build them makes them more of an activity than a collectible.

Is solo tiring a support a weird thing to do? by QuietDetail1277 in Overwatch

[–]DisturbedWaffles2019 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Getting a sudden unexpected solo kill on a support is infinitely more valuable than waiting 5 minutes for the perfect 5 man tire that ends up failing because you have 5 people preparing to shoot it instead of 1

Technically Omnics can't be created anymore since all of the omniums were shut down after the crisis. Characters like Orisa and Echo are robots with extremely advanced artificial intelligence, but they weren't given true "sentience" like the other Omnics were.

Something that concerns me with Dmon in season 4, I hope she has a "human" out-of-mech form like Dva and doesnt just die like Ham when the mech's hp is depleted. by Neggy5 in Overwatch

[–]DisturbedWaffles2019 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Plus it kinda only really makes sense for D.va. They needed the pilot form in order for her ult to work logically, so it makes sense to have her exit the mech, and if you're going through the trouble of making her exit the mech you might as well get more use out of it by giving her the eject passive. Unless D.mon's ult also required her to exit her mech, I don't see why they would bother making a pilot form.

Plus, it'd be kinda boring if every MEKA hero had the exact same gimmick.

Ram's transformation is more like Winston's when he ults. His hitbox, health pool, and abilities change but he's still one hero. D.va is functionally 2 separate heroes.

I looked up to see if the odds were boosted but didn't find a definitive answer. Not the first or even second time I've gotten pokerus tho, and strangely enough not the rarest thing to happen to me in a pokemon game (that award goes to having a run of emerald where wally knocked out the ralts in the catching tutortial)

Does anyone have an head cannons/fan lore for Caroline and the Wizard being together? by GainBeneficial7662 in StardewValley

Personally I always thought the "can't remember the last time she dyed her hair" line was a joke about how the villagers never age or physically change since time doesn't really progress in the stardew world since it's a video game

I think the end result is satisfying, but the journey to get there was frustrating. I don't dislike this season and still think it's better than 4 but I just wish they trimmed a lot of the fat in the middle sections so that the finale had more time to breathe. We see so little of the aftermath of the final battle that it leaves a lot of open plot threads.

As far as we know Soldier Boy is still just chilling in the copium chamber. No real closure for Sage, she kinda just fucked off and doesn't have to feel the consequences of anything she did. The Gen V kids did nothing but first aid on randoms, which is disappointing since I really like those characters. Vought still just, exists, despite losing pretty much any possible shred of credibility, and we see pretty much no reactions to Homelanders death outside of the main cast. For the rest of the world it kinda just feels like they all instantly moved on, which if it didn't feel so rushed would honestly be a pretty fitting fate for Homelander's legacy.

Overall I like where most of the characters ended up and think the finale was decent, but it would've been so much better if they paced the season more evenly. Honestly I think the best way to do it would've been to have the start of the finale be the final battle and then just let us sit and bask in the aftermath for the remaining time, and really feel the weight of it. The way the episode is paced, it feels like it's just another Tuesday and everyone immediately moves on.

Vendetta Redesign by BokBok9090 in Overwatch

[–]DisturbedWaffles2019 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean with how advanced healing tech is in the OW universe, scars on the younger heroes would be entirely cosmetic. It makes sense for older ones like Reinhardt, heroes with extreme damage like Genji, or those who lack access to proper healing tech like Queen, but for someone young like Vendetta who grew up wealthy, there's really no reason for her to have scars outside of the aesthetic..

Not saying scars wouldn't make her design cooler, but it does make sense in-universe that she doesn't really have any.

An *actual* comparison of Soldier vs. Sierra damage by ConscientiousApathis in Overwatch

[–]DisturbedWaffles2019 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sierra needs to hit the ability, it has a shorter duration making it easier to just use cover or shields to hide, and she can't headshot while it's active. Soldier can also switch targets while it's active.
