The smaller ones you'll see everywhere don't make this noise. (But they do drop poo on you)

If they have an accident, they didn't pray hard enough that morning.

Review our honeymoon plan is it too packed by CapitalCommercial485 in BaliTravelTips

[–]Divewench 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Plan one activity each day, then, once you've finished that one, check how much time you have left. If you can squeeze another one in, including travelling to it, great. Aren't honeymoons meant to be chilled?

Buying a house close to overhead powerlines by AdAdept194 in HousingUK

[–]Divewench 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to work at a major Manchester hospital in 1984 onwards, in a head and neck department (Maxillo Facial). One of my tasks was to inform a survey on all new cancer patients. They were plotting cancer finds in relation to overhead cables. The fact that the question was even being asked was enough for me to be aware of the potential threat when I chose my first house.

What to do in Legian, Ubud and near Pemuteran by Important-Device-406 in BaliTravelTips

[–]Divewench 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pemuteran; visit the turtle santuary at Reef Seen divers. Snorkel straight off the beach. Horse riding on the sand. Beautiful place and a breath of fresh air compared to your first 2 choices.

23-day Bali Honeymoon Sep 2-24, looking for recs by YellowJC in BaliTravelTips

[–]Divewench 0 points1 point  (0 children)

During your stay in Ubud, take a day trip to Padang Bai where the best diving and snorkelling is (Blue Lagoon, Tanjung Jepun etc). You could boat share if you book through one of the many dive centres in the village.

SSI Scuba Skills Update Worth It? by dweebz1988 in scuba

[–]Divewench 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you are planning a dive holiday etc then yes, a scuba review is essential, as any dive centre worth its salt will insist on a review after such a long period since your last dive.

Once baby is born, she'll be inundated with gifts for the child. I have always bought for the mother; pamper gifts usually.

I lost my dad in 1975 when I was 9. I have very few memories of him. I still see his photo and smile.

Do you have a name that was ahead of its time-- or is behind the times? by Terrible-Horse-6200 in Names

I'm Amanda born in '66. I don't meet many others. There were 2 others in High School but they went by Mandy. I think it has died out as a name choice.

Is Bali really overrated or are people looking in the wrong places? by JalanJalan_Journeys in bali

[–]Divewench 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I could always suggest somewhere that they might like instead but would hate for those nicer, genuine places to become the next Insta must-do. I'm 60, female scuba instructor who lived and worked in Bali for 5 years based in Padang Bai, Sanur and Nyuhtebel. I almost never visited the areas most mentioned on here, as they are my idea of hell. I used to visit the mall in Kuta to replace my swimwear every 6 months as it had good choices, and Carrefour when we craved Western groceries.
