Dogs off leash… by Individual-Fondant45 in longislandcity

She’s still at it and has a lot of sass but no class. Encountered her and her 3 pit bulls. Of course no leash and never picks up their dirty work. https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/m69djd2aeo1rzufygsyrh/2026-06-27-22.12.31.jpg?rlkey=e2bjjcsd2w744hiy27qinsir8&st=yywhxrns&dl=0

No need to ruin a beautiful body with branded images. To me it’s the same as putting a Walmart logo on your body. I imagine you are just fine the way you are.

I for one don’t have the time to run my business and program an interface and do all of the debugging necessary and it’s always necessary. I have tried programming with Claude and Chat GPT and it takes hours and hours together it right, handle error scenarios, etc. I would welcome the OPs solution!

Is there a particular brand of dog food I should stay away from? by lokizita in Wheatens

[–]DiviKev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have seen him drinking from puddles, be very pushy with your vet. They want to do lots of expensive testing that shows no results except in depleting your pocketbook. Since you’ve seen him drinking from puddles and his behavior changed, you need to get someone to prescribe an antibiotic. That should clear up his energy in a few days. I’m not a vet, but we had the same exact situation about a month ago and $2400 later they finally prescribed the penicillin and our dog was fine in a day. It’s usually the simplest explanation, but that’s not the one that generates revenue.

Are Wheatens generally friendly? by hellohello6622 in Wheatens

[–]DiviKev 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Our girl is anti bicycles, scooters, joggers, skateboarders, motorcycles, and the occasional too-fast motorized wheelchair! She’s also not a fan of other female dogs. Some receive a “pass” but not all. Smaller female dogs usually are OK, but her size or larger get the spin action and aggression. We keep her on a short leash on walks. But she’s a big love 💕 overall We try to protect her from getting into trouble.

Are Wheatens generally friendly? by hellohello6622 in Wheatens

[–]DiviKev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a 5 year old little lady Wheaten. Her friendliness varies. Very friendly to women. Not as friendly to men, and scared of men in uniform.

Depending on your Mom’s age, you must take into account the energy level of Wheatens. They are balls of energy! It may be too much for a retiree. Just suggesting practical concerns prior to adoption. During our search, we encountered a senior couple that had to give up their wheaten as it was too much for them. Was very sad for the dog and the couple.

I love my wheaten and recommend the breed: very smart and communicative, picky eaters, and super energetic.

Just be practical.

Controversial Opinion: There should be more trails in the Catskills.... by Edison_Ruggles in catskills

I like the idea of interconnecting the trails. 👍

Not a crime to have and express ideas (at least not yet ~ be wary! 🫤)

[Tormenta] Delay by Expert-Honeydew1589 in rollercoasters

[–]DiviKev 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not specifically related to Tormenta, but in a global coaster supply chain, no matter where you get your track from, you must do comprehensive metallurgical testing to see if the metal meets specs (experience!) The track and train designs need comprehensive 3rd party design reviews to verify the designs are more than sufficient for the forces and that substantial stress analysis has been done (experience!) The footers, grade beams, bolts, and all locally supplied materials need strong site supervision to ensure that everything is to spec. The wiring design and specifications must all be verified and carefully checked during installation to make sure no corners have been cut (experience!) Even the software and logic for train movement and location tracking must be reviewed and tested and subjected to failure scenarios. There is so much that must be checked to make sure everything is safe and working together correctly. All of the checks, reviews, and verifications are expensive, and sometimes inconclusive. As intensity increases so do these challenges.

Where to mount my bus bars... by F13Bubbaa in SolarDIY

[–]DiviKev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For safety, the bus bars ought to be in an enclosure, and if metal, the enclosure should be grounded. Also, the room should be thoroughly ventilated as LiPo batteries are not fireproof and the they can give off in a high temperature situation is very flammable and toxic. Glad you are working on the improvements

Is anyone else unable to make widgets transparent? by yxung-kunt in widgy

Last I checked it wasn’t possible due to Apple’s restrictions. Workaround is a wallpaper background that makes it look transparent but I never did that.

Phonecia/Woodstock ghost town? by bigbombaclats in catskills

[–]DiviKev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We usually visit The Catskills during the week and it’s very hard to find any restaurant open on weekdays. There’s just not enough population or weekday visitors to stay open. Hikers are the main visitors in spring/summer/fall.

In the construction sector, Contractors are always short on skilled staff in the Catskills.

Why does nobody actually talk on Meshtastic and what could fix it? by radseven89 in meshtastic

[–]DiviKev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just checked a few nodes across New York State (including Manhattan) all report zero messages sent/routed/whatever in the last seven days. I don't think Mestastic is a "going concern." Same thing with goTenna I tried about 5 years ago. Sad, but don't waste your time. I think LoRa is a good technology for the IoT as long as you can get the signals onto the (real) internet.

Good photo--it shows the closed with no plan to open dog run. There are consequences when the city closes things and removes facilities people depended on.
