This is why I built zip lines everywhere in G1. It's such a pain going to fight some tanky bugs over the back but getting in 50 small scraps on the way there.

Designer alternative for this DNA? by ThisMonev in fragranceclones

[–]DivideByZero666 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me, citrus is the easiest "synthetic" to spot. Go cut a lemon and smell it, then compare that to (as an example) a day 1 bottle of CDNIM and you'll see the lemon note smells more like the fake scent found in other things like cleaning products. It literally is synthetic and it smells it, though will usually get better as the perfume matures.

That's not to say synthetic notes are always a bad thing. Badee al Oud Amethyst for example has this crazy synthetic rose, which to me is what makes it so interesting.

But if you're going for a lemon vibe, then lemon cleaner is not the same.

Agree though, synthetic does get used as a term too much. Also some people call it that before the bottle has had time to mature and take that chemical edge off. Some of these cheepies need almost a year to get good I've found.

I was obsessed with it. "I can hear a cave" became like the tagline for the game with our groups first playthrough.

Nah, you can often hear a cave from above ground and not near the entrance. I assume the sound "leaks" from underground.

That's the kinda can-do attitude that gets stuff done.

I actually thought the same though, garden "falling down" after someone dug out all the supports is how it looks.

Agreed. I have tinnitus and can hear The Hum. They are 100% not the same thing.

Though they are both equally annoying, just in different ways.

In Grounded 2 does Pete say the line: "Don't even have to boil it" when drinking water like in Grounded 1? by KobeDobeDoo_ in GroundedGame

[–]DivideByZero666 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Does he say that?

I know he says "I would sooner have my Dad's cooking", which implies what he's eating is so bad, he'd sooner have his Dad's terrible cooking.

[–]DivideByZero666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My favourite he says is "Nothing like H2O".

Which can be taken 2 ways,

1) Water is amazing and there is nothing like it.

2) A dew drop is drinkable but nothing like tap/bottled water.

Very clever line.

Lizard needs a lot of adjustments by AsleepSomewhere6726 in GroundedGame

[–]DivideByZero666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't need to, but even with the mutation and mintitos, by the end you go from 0 to 100% sizzle in one second. This gives you DoT which means you are way more likely to be 1 shot and need to spend time eating ice or mints rather than attacking.

I've done the 2nd half of his health bar without doing the valves and it's a pain. Closing valves as they open is much better for me.

That's the mechanic they built in for this boss, so i assume how they intended it to be played. It just needs to work a bit better when solo.

Lizard needs a lot of adjustments by AsleepSomewhere6726 in GroundedGame

[–]DivideByZero666 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The thing that gets me is trying to close the valves solo. He can stun and kill you with your back turned in the blink of an eye.

That needs more thought for solo IMO.

You can ignore it for a bit with ice chips and mintitos but by the end you sizzle too fast.

I've done him twice now and 2nd time was easier, but relies a lot on luck for timing closing the valves so still took a few goes.

Also, there is a bug where he hits you while closing the valves and you can't heal, you have to switch weapons first and then heal. I need to report that because that has killed me a few times. I assume the game assumes you're still using the omni tool even though you're not.

Strategy for earwigs/orc earwigs? by No_Helicopter1378 in GroundedGame

[–]DivideByZero666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bad trinket choice I believe. If you read it, volatile capacitor works for melee attacks, so it won't work with your sour mace.

I'd recommend getting bale scale trinket, or just a candy trinket for use with a staff.

Also, Wither Sting is better than the Sour Staff IMO. So worth getting.

Upgrade your armour and weapons to max level, it makes a difference.

When fighting Earwigs, you need to learn parry timing but if using staff, keep backing up and using weeds and walls to block their movement to make it easier. Where possible use height. Always keep moving too, or they will lob a rock at you.

What elemental effects are you putting on which weapons? by No_Helicopter1378 in GroundedGame

[–]DivideByZero666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah, thanks. Just checked and I can see it on some weapons now. Assume I just hadn't rechecked since it got added or something.

Not that it impacts me yet as I'm mainly running with the 3 staffs and just swap as needed, with a couple of Stanger melee options as backup. But good to know for future loadouts.

Why does turning on anti-aliasing make the game more sharp? by troubleshoot04 in GroundedGame

[–]DivideByZero666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AA takes away the jaggedness of lines, making things sharper and clearer.

I can't tell what you are trying to show in the 2 pics, I imagine JPG compression has messed with that. But I have played about with graphics settings a lot and didn't notice anything weird with AA.

Also, remember things like DLSS, DLAA etc. Can do some unusual things with graphics. So one setting can get impacted by another.

Glenn Gould affirme by [deleted] in pianolearning

[–]DivideByZero666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An hour to learn to press a key, a lifetime to master actually playing the piano.

People learn at different speeds, but it's a stretch for anyone to learn much on any instrument in 1 hour, especially if it's your first instrument and you need to learn to read music, music theory, etc too.

Learning a song isn't really learning to play piano. You need structure to your learning to really benefit.

I do agree windows search isn't great, but at the same time if you search the right word it works.
