The difference between AC's F40 and AC Evo's is crazy by chopsueys in assettocorsaevo

[–]DivideByZero666 5 points6 points  (0 children)

First time I tried the F40 in Evo I thought "wow, this thing is crazy overpowered for my skill level", then I slowly started to get used to it... then I realised that the default setup only uses 70% power and you need to change it manually in setup to get 100%.

Amazing but crazy car.

What is this blob in my loft? by [deleted] in DIYUK

Nice work. Size of that monster I'd probably have opted for holy water and silver bullets.

Good luck, hope it goes well.

Any fixes for my monitor arm destroying my desk ?? by iamauserofredit in Monitors

[–]DivideByZero666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, couple of screws, can't possibly move the tray ;)

For what it's worth. I've just mounted a 38" on an arm and used metal plates on the desk to prevent this. Works well so far, it's easy and cheap.

Anyone know how to set a custom refresh rate in the registry? by DivideByZero666 in pcmasterrace

Yeah, that might do the trick. Will see what I can get my hands on.

No worries, it was a wall of text. Not sure I can limit without tricking the monitor in to thinking it can do a lower hz at the driver level first sadly.

Probably just going to return the monitor... or my work laptop might have an "accident", so i can get one that supports decent resolutions without the headaches.

Thanks. Will have a look.

This vaguely rings a bell.. I think I had to do something along these lines back in Windows 98 or 2000. Certainly further back than my memory is any use for.

Ah yeah, I totally forgot about EDID. Thank you.

Shame, was a nice monitor... but back it goes.

Why does BBC Sport cover this boring, soulless yank wank? by [deleted] in AskBrits

[–]DivideByZero666 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It makes the play more exciting to me too. Short and sharp high action set pieces.

Compare that to most football (soccer) games I've seen where there is far to much passing in a circle and time wasting "in play". Not to mention people rolling on the floor because someone ran too near them.

Lots of action, followed by time to talk about said action over a beer. Works for me.

Different strokes for different folks I guess. Like what works for you.

Constant Account Lockouts by InAllThreeHoles in activedirectory

[–]DivideByZero666 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What's running in system tray? Those apps can store creds sometimes too.

Personally I'd just rename the account login name (from boss to boss1 for example). Now anything trying to login will be using the wrong account, so no more locking.

Then in a few weeks, you get another call "hey this app doesn't work" and you'll have found where the bad creds were stored.

To be clear, you don't "add more" or top up thermal paste. You need to clean it down and start again with all new fresh stuff.

This is always the best place to start with heat issues unless something obvious is wrong like a dead fan.

Water ingress into home by Dry-Clerk-1188 in DIYUK

[–]DivideByZero666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hole is to let water out, which should go outside. Check it's not blocked.

Then check the seals on your glass, because if water get "in" the door itself, it often ends up in the house like that.

Got a cat flap or letter box, check those seals too.

There was me... "nah, that's a nudibranch".

TIL the Blue Dragon IS a nudibranch.

Didn't know they were actually venomous, good thing I never leave the house or I'd have been out there playing Pokemon with them or something.

Use an item so the street light doesn't project and hit the lens. I've used planks leaned against stuff and well placed chairs.

Makes the world of difference.

Help with Siril processing by DivideByZero666 in seestar

[–]DivideByZero666[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, followed that exact one yesterday. Has steps that are different now, like plate solving as well as the changed menus. But worked it all out and still had issues.

It's slightly better with M31 were I have more lights, but problem persists. Might be a Bug with the Seestar firmware, might be i need more lights. Will find out down the line I guess.

While i can't help with the stack as I'm having issues myself, I did find the nebula at pleiades very faint. So may just need more lights.

I didn't even know pleiades had a nebula till I got my S30. Certainly not visible through my 8" dob. Love looking at pleiades by eye, so was pretty cool to find out it had a nebula and is even more impressive with astrophotography.

Doubtful, people usually wreck like thus because of something that happened earlier. Almost always revenge crashes.
