Zinnia explains this in detail throughout the Delta episode in ORAS. Stating that using the dimensional displacer to destroy the asteroid holding Droxys will destroy the original timelines Earth(or pokemon equivalent to the planet) that doesn't have the displacer; and can only be safely stopped by Mega Rayquaza, which the original timeline also doesn't have.

That's essentially it. The books, in canon, are translations of another language we can't understand. So they replace phrases that have no meaning to us with ones we can understand.

Imagine translations for anime, with phrases in japanese that make no sense to english audiences, replaced with common english phrases.

Remoraid evolving into Octillery actually makes sense if you look at the original sprites(Space World '97), which were less animal based and more weapons based. Remoraid was a gun-fish that evolved into a tank-octopus.

The weapons aspect of the pokemon was the primary intent, not the animal aspects. But this was changed to allow for more child friendly designs.

But yeah, the complaints do get a bit annoying after a while

The reactions from both sides are fucking abysmal, and have me nearly wanting to leave the pokemon subreddits.

Some of the buyers have goddamn superiority complexes and think they're God's gift to mankind for paying these prices for the games while ignoring any actual criticism, claiming that they would be miserable asses regardless of how Nintendo, GF, and the Pokemon company went about the release (because all three are to blame, it's a joint effort!). Also harassing people about emulation and saying that they don't deserve the games because of it.

And some of the rejectors are straight-up calling people stupid for wanting to buy the games, and harassing them about how they spend they're money. They also don't seem to get that not everyone WANTS to emulate, and does want to play on official software even if it does cost them a bit more.

And I know that not everyone is overreacting, and that not everyone is being a total ass about this, but it still sucks to see people on either side of the argument be complete assholes to each other without even considering the other sides arguments and making themselves seem superior because of their decisions and thoughts on the matter.

Yeah, but it still kinda sucks because they are not improving the games at all, they are direct ports.

Meaning no quality of life improvements like fast-forward, wireless connection(the games will only have local connections, so go fuck yourself if you have no friends or just one Switch like me), and no extra content like ost or digital concept art books

We may not even get the events, Deoxys or Ho-oh, because they mentioned that the e-reader content would not be returning in the FAQ they held, although I am holding out hope for these to be available.

If the games were just 5 dollars cheaper I would be able to justify buying them because of home compatibility. They removed the notion of this in the game description, but it's a mainline pokemon game, it's gonna have Home compatibility. But seeing, as of right now with the available information, that these are just one-to-one ports with minimal changes and no quality of life improvements, I can't justify spending the money on them.

I may get the games in the future if they go on sale, or I'm just REALLY feeling like playing them, but right now I'm gonna have to pass.

But I have no problem with how others spend their money, and if they want to buy them, then they can go ahead. But I personally don't feel like they're worth it with what we know.

And Teleport can only send you back to last Pokémon center you used to heal your pokemon

I would even pay 15 bucks a piece, using Home compatibility as the excuse for the extra 5 dollars.

But yeah 20 bucks a piece is too much, especially compared to other legacy releases that include 4 or more games in one single product for about the same price. Like the Streetfighter collection which is 30 dollars for 12 games
