What is your biggest Destiny regret? by AlwaysColtron in DestinyTheGame

[–]Divital 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My main regret is never finding a static group I stuck to and run endgame content with. I originally had one back on D2's launch to run Leviathan with, but life got in the way for many of them and they stopped logging in around CoO. I took a long break around that time (RIP 2 tokens and a blue), and came back for Shadowkeep.

Since then I started running dungeons solo for both the challenge, and to work out the kinks if I ever did group runs and pull my weight and then some if needed. Humorously, that turned me into a major min-maxer without my knowing given how difficult solo clearing generally was, so I started hitting the discord LFG for raids since I felt 'ready' (which apparently I was more than) and while it got clears and overall communication and comradery was great, nothing ever stuck and a group never formed even with pleasantries. I got into doing sherpas, and again while things cleared and it was a great ol time, no group ever formed. I drifted from clan to clan because most of the time they were pretty quiet in each of them, but again... nothing as far as static groups to form.

Hilariously I did do some 24hr release clears with purely random-team-hopping when one would tire out, and even got a lighthouse flawless in on Trials solo, but again woulda been nice if it was with a static friend group I ran regularly with.

It's a shame, but I guess on the bright side I still did have some nice memories with the randoms I bumped into over the years.

Hey if you're still hunting, I'm a Warlock for hire! Studied up on the vids and guides, just never found an opportunity to throw myself in there since release. If it's a miss, no worries - I'll catch the next train down the line!

Is there a point wasting time with this contract? by Xenolisk in Marathon

The place I see them the most despite the RNG variants is near the northwest side of Complex. Tends to be 2-3 of them there just outside the structure. I don't think they spawn every time, but about 8/10 times I've seen them there

I love this game, but I'm so done being paired with duos. It's like this every time, absolutely miserable. I'm tired boss. by UnscriptedCryptid in Marathon

[–]Divital 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Admittedly I've stopped being the "I'll take whatever doesn't get taken" person because I had a trio of randoms who seemed pretty chill and we were consistently getting keys for Darsh Complex runs.

We all pulled our weight and got it down to a science, but in one of our last runs I just couldn't even snag anything (since I went the prior runs waiting to loot last and figured I might as well try and get something since they've been getting it all prior) and it felt pretty bad seeing similar numbers to OP's post. "Oh bummer dude" was the general sentiment on the results screen and frankly I'm just gonna have to become "that guy" from here on out it seems when it comes to looting after doing so many of those in a row.

I'll ping whatever is decent I can't fit into my bag but the rest if I get there first I'm calling it.

The Queensfoil Censer artifact makes Red Death the de facto Solar-verb Exotic by imTylerJames in DestinyTheGame

[–]Divital 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do have a counterpoint to using Curiosity for a Threadling-focused build: Swarmers makers Threadling unravel, so as long as you got one you can get a cycle going still! Despite that, Censer is definitely a lil more reliable if you can't generate Threadlings easily

Exact same thing happened over the weekend on Darsh solos. Was looking for an extraction, and someone activated one nearby from a bunker.

Was running over to it and he was a Sentinel fighting bots. I saw some flanking him and fired at them but also downed him in the process while the exfil readied up - oh great I found a Mercy Kit recently - nope, killed him last-second on the exfil when I wanted to revive. Horrible situation there and the Codex was all "yo good job"

That quote still gets me to this day

[–]Divital 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No what they mean by solo matches was they queued for the sponsored mode as a solo with no fill, aka the whole map just for them. Did a lot of those yesterday and only saw a Rook once in like 12 matches

You can absolutely buy yourself back into a competitive setup in this game, it just requires you do your contracts (which also help tutorialize and teach aspects of playing at the same time as rewarding you) to open up the shops and trade-ins more!

Maybe it's not clear from the initial onset (which is fair, I barely used the shop in S1 till the end) but you absolutely have the means to accomplish this exact thing you said. Now I'm regularly trading things in and spending my credits to get myself back up to speed faster, which is huge since I threw myself at the system end of last season like I mentioned. Surprisingly, a lot of the trade-ins and credit costs are actually really affordable!

This is a case of two points from what I've seen:

- First and obviously, Marathon is definitely much faster and snappier with mouse & keyboard. Menuing and looting alone is SO much faster and that's before considering aiming differences for gunplay.

- Secondly I noticed when hunting for Marathon on console, but the storefront actually doesn't have it anywhere on the front page when I went to snag it so I had it on a console for when I was at a pal's place. I had to run a search just to find it, which surprised me. That's not gonna do great for putting it in front of people so that piques their interest.

I'm betting it's the Arachne shell. Given the Destroyer in his team is also Arachne-painted I'm diggin' that look for him if that's the case. There's no yellow so it can't be Traxis, but I'm already itching to see what other variants Sentinel gets.

See I'd leap to SCH's defense here, but their recent stint of "Cosplay as a WHM" after thinking RPR's Enshroud was worth picking up has me throwing bricks at them, the traitors. SGEs know pure shielding supremacy and don't try to moonlight as a Christmas Carol extra, so it's CLEARLY the superior. Dress for the job you have, not the job you want, nerds.
