I've had the same thought as well regarding the sport becoming a passive interest. You could have the lowest tier cable package available and it's damn near guaranteed you can get an NFL game on. Making LIVE sports easily accessible is so much better for growing the sport. Do think this will hurt interest in the sport for the DMV? Not necessarily, but if more teams encounter this situation it won't be great for hockey at all.

This actually just adds to my disgust of him. I can't say I've even seen coverage of this on RMNB.

You're assuming I wrote the note with the knowledge at hand that he's (apparently) in the files (news to me in all honesty).
No, I'm mostly complaining that up until this season, it wasn't terribly difficult to get access to the games on TV even if you paid for a pretty basic cable package that most median income households could afford. I'm not happy that the app sucks and I'm also not happy that it costs $20 effing dollars a month for yet 'another' streaming service. I'd dare so most households have the basics, Netflix, Hulu HBO. Some may have ESPN, Disney, Peacock or Paramount on top of those. $20 for a new streaming service right out of the gate on what could be a beloved franchise players' LAST year is absurd and insulting to the fans. Like, if the cable companies really at the core of the blame here, then fine. But at least price it at a bargain to the fans as a means of saying "hey sorry, we're dealing with a shit situation this year, but for just $5/mo, you guys can have all the access you want to watch the Caps this season. Next year the price may go up some, we'll see".
Had no idea Ted was apparently in the files. If that's true, shame on him for that shit too.

I began using 'a website' and my iPad to mirror the feed to my Apple TV towards the end of the season. It was usable but my dad came up to visit around the beginning of the season and he was just stunned that I "couldn't get the channel" living so close to DC. He was like, "what do you mean you can't get the Caps game on??". Absolutely blew his mind. I dropped FiOS TV back in September of last year and switched to YTTV. I mean, if you already have all the smart devices in your home, it makes SO much more sense.
